Please I want to buy a Nigerian used BMW X3 3.0 si 2008.
I want to know if this particular car is reliable.
What do I look out for.
First time buying a BMW.
I am not afraid of maintenance but I do not want to throw away hard earned money because I bought a bad version.

Please I need sincere advice.

The 2008 3.0si is built very good and handles very well but it's main issue will be the "N' engine series with an electric water pump.
Some mechanics also have issues with the engine ignition timing(through very rarely required).

Go with a reliable and trusted mechanic for inspection.

I'm currently on my 2nd x3.

Hello, I have a BMW X5 in Abuja. My air suspension (airbags) keeps failing repeatedly. I want to convert it to regular coil spring suspension permanently. Does anyone know a trusted BMW specialist mechanic in Abuja who has done this conversion before? Please share experience and contact.

Electric water pump issues: the water pump is one of the major issues of this vehicle, the China type run on one speed the original run on variable speed according to acceleration.

Oil leakage: it advisable to do a air leakage test after buying as this would cause unfavorable engine performance because airflow metering would not work because of leakage unmeasured air

Service every 4-6months and avoid Mobil 1

Bore a hole where the Brainbox is so water accumulation would not put a hole in your pocket

If no catalyst, try and get one to enjoy super fuel economy

Get you roof check for drainage as water is a major enemy of this car, it would make you regret the purchase.

Apart from these issue car is fantastic.
