richiemcgold:It was the work of Obidients Movement to demystify and demarket Tinubu as a greedy human being. Even in the office, dey carry the matter for head like gala. I tried convincing them that it's the turn of Lagos East zone, and not Tinubu zone, but they wouldn't listen. |

mrvitalis:You are almost correct. Tinubu is always fair in his choice that's why Lagos APC has not splitted. His choice appeals to the party leaders and even to the people. For example, he ensures that every senatorial district gets a chance. If he has to exert his influence to pick someone, he ensures that people of divergent opinions are compensated in some other ways. Everyone gains, no one feels cheated or trampled on. More importantly, he picks excellent people. Apart from councillors, almost every politician in Lagos delivers. That's what people like Wike and Yaya Bello don't know. |

tunapawizzy:Tinubu would never do such rather he would send him to house of Reps the highest he can do for him with caution not to disrupt the queue. |

Ofunaofu:So is it wrong to choose someone that is capable?.. has any of the previous governors failed to perform?. Let me tell you, anyone contesting for governor of Lagos from the Lagos camp are experienced personalities. They are all qualified for the post, so it’s right for the elders to pick who they feel is best in “their camp”… so stop being negative and understand the roles of elders and party leaders in the survival of a serious political party or system. |

Well as long as the people are not allowed to run for Governor and vote for their choice, the course of Lagos state is predictable. Nothing can happen for better or worse. |

Thank you Mr waka jugbe. When Obi anointed Obiano, did anyone in your village protest. At least you did not see Emeka Rhodes Vivor on the list. I beg face front....focus on who replaces Soludo. Leave Lagos for us 🤣🤣🤣 mrvitalis: |

mctech:When will it be the people's choice and not that of Mr. Tinubu. When will that Barack Obama kind of politician arise out of left field and sweep into office with new ideas and direction. When will the people be able to say, that man or woman is our choice so will obey us and implement our interests only while in office....Abi, this is not possible in the largest state of the largest black nation on earth. |
| Re: New Twists In Race For Lagos Government House by ogaemma: 2:22pm On Mar 29 |
A very useless state whereby the outgoing Governor does not have the right to anoint his successor. A state that is still governed by Idi Amin of Bourdillon |

| Re: New Twists In Race For Lagos Government House by Ofunaofu: 2:35pm On Mar 29 |
Hammylawali:Performance is relative and in the words of Daniel Bwala, context matters Are you saying that Lagosians can’t chose for themselves who is capable? You and I know that Tinubu’s so-called choice of governors isn’t about competence, it’s about protecting his personal wealth and ensuring the continued exploitation of Lagosians. Experience doesn’t justify a monopoly. Elders and party leaders aren’t gatekeepers of competence, they’re enablers of a system that puts personal gain above the people’s right to choose. So no, it’s not “negative” to call out a party that thinks democracy means a few deciding for the many. |

Ofunaofu:. Your own home state where you have a say and decide the governor, how developed is it today ? If your state is well governed, why did you run away from there to Lagos? Even your past and present state governors spend their vacation in Lagos, why? |

Hemanwel:You mean the guy that doesnt think Yoruba. The guy that fluent in speaking Igbo than yoruba. And you think Awori and Badagary people would like to have people like that as their governor. How do you think he would be able to get votes from market women who do not understand English language . |

Ofunaofu:As for your first question, lagosians can’t because lagosians aren’t among the delegates that choose these guys. The only people lagosians choose are the final contestants on the ballot (all lagosians can’t be among the delegates). Secondly, saying tinubu’s guys are incompetent is a big lie and it shows you still do not know who Tinubu is. Tinubu rolls with experts (you can factcheck me). Tinubu has a gift of picking self made men, and he’d use them to achieve his aim as long as the person keeps performing. Every politician has their own selfish interests to keep or defend, but party leaders are those who guide each parties with their constitutions. We need to understand a lot of these rules before we attack or blames certain quarters. |

I just hope the next governor of my state Lagos will be a conservative……..we want someone who can protect our interest as the indigenous people of Lagos and our heritage….Lagos regardless of its cosmopolitan nature is still yorubaland with it own customs and traditions and that will never be traded away for one Nigeria the constitution still respects the right of the indigenous people and so therefore is must be protected from covetous and envious neighbours and from the list of prospective aspirants, I think Wahab the commissioner of environment will do a good job in protecting our interest……..eko oni baje oo btw proudly Lagos ![]() |
