Operatives of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as Amotekun, have rescued three nurses abducted by gunmen at a primary health centre in Akure, the Ondo State capital. The Corps Commander, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, who confirmed the development while speaking at the headquarters of the command, said the health workers were rescued at about 4:30 a.m. on Saturday. Similarly, Adeleye also confirmed the rescue of a 45-year-old man and his 15-year-old son who were abducted at Pelebe community along Oda Road, Akure. He said, “The man and his son were kidnapped between 7:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. yesterday (Friday). The victims were, however, rescued by our men at about 1:00 a.m. after a heavy confrontation with the kidnappers. The three health workers earlier abducted have also been rescued at about 4:30 a.m. and are currently receiving treatment at the Amotekun health facility.” Some armed bandits reportedly stormed the primary health centre located in the Oke Ijebu area of Akure, abducting no fewer than three health workers on duty on Saturday morning. It was gathered that the bandits struck at the government-owned facility at about 2 a.m. and whisked away the victims. According to one of the patients at the centre, the attackers arrived in a bus, forcefully entered the facility and took away the victims, while other health workers on duty luckily escaped. The bandits were also said to have packed all the victims into the bus before driving off to an unknown destination. The Amotekun commander assured residents that the safety of lives and property remains a top priority for the state government. He also urged members of the public to continue to provide timely and adequate information to security agencies, stressing the need for collective efforts to enhance safety across the state. Karlovych:What's your obsession with Igboho? Did he ever tell you he was a security agent? You leave those responsible for your security and start attacking private citizens. Mischievous misplaced priority. |

Very impressive i must say. This is why we need state policing even though we are almost certain that some of our incompetent Governors will want to hijack it but Atleast it’s better to call our Governors to order if the insecurity situation of the state isn’t tackled head on unlike calling on our security chiefs and presidency in far away Abuja. If your state becomes the breeding ground of bandits and terrorists to ruin it as they seem fit then that’s on you! Weldone to the Amotekuns. |

Good to hear. This is similar to what we've been saying. These are not even police oh. It's strange that any state will say they can't defend themselves. Ordinary banks, you can't dare pass near their vans. i remember rivers governor threatening to disrupt the nation's economy before they reset his brain. Tell me when last we heard of bandits and co dealing with Benue and Plateau? Was it Tinubu that solved their problem directly? NO. He went there and told the governor to wake up. i can't imagine a Tinubu or Wike or Fashola or even Fayose as governor of a place, and some miscreants are turning the state upside down, and everyone starts calling on the President. When it's convenient, opposition will accuse a civilian Tinubu of ordering soldiers to kill people. The same dem will claim their governors are powerless and helpless. Is this how to be opposition? |

The Amotekun corps is almost useless. The aim for the creation of Amotekun is to deter these demons from operating from the forests. Their job is not to rescue but to be offensive. It is just sad how everything is Nigeria |

Great that these people were rescued ....but why none of th kidnappers has been arrested or killed? It's not like the victims were found ...they engaged the kidnappers. How does this work?...they locate them ...exchange fire..when the kidnappers retreat they don't go after them? It seems like there is no consequences for the kidnappers. |

We can now see the need for the state security network or apparatus. |

Instead of those one's to be fighting insecurity in their region, they are killing their own. |
| Re: Kidnapped Ondo Health Workers Rescued By Amotekun by Godfullsam(m): 2:28pm On Mar 29 |
decatalyst:They are working but they are very limited because they are not allowed to carry sofisticatee weapons like the criminals. Besides, you don't expect them to operate in all the forest at once. Moreover, there are lots of rescue project that they don't announce |
| Re: Kidnapped Ondo Health Workers Rescued By Amotekun by Godfullsam(m): 2:46pm On Mar 29 |
Originalsly:1. The main target/aim is to rescue the victims. 2. Once the bandits discover they were about to be over powered, they usually abandon their victims and run for their lives. The security operatives will rescue the victims and retreat because of number 1 above. 3. In case of any rescue operations where the bandits were killed, security operatives don't usually announce their casualties. |

Godfullsam:I hear you ...but chew on this. You have 10 chickens in a coop. You heard them cheeping ...went to check on them and saw a snake had grabbed one. You decided you will rescue th chick so you fought off the snake and rescued the chick. The main target/aim achieved. Do you allow the snake to slither away? .. and likely return for another chick? ...or you go after it to captur nor kill it? |

bigiyaro:Lol... Those in southwest knew Igboho before this his freedom fighting adventure. He became popular after the ife-modakeke war. That's by the way, did he ever tell you he was a police officer or military man or even a vigilante? Are those not the people responsible for security? He was a freedom fighter yesterday and has chosen to not be a freedom fighter again, is there anything illegal about that? He has made his choice which he has every right to, stop leaving real issues to focus on irrelevant things. |

Leepeak:They will still definitely continue feeding on ur delta oil even if anioma state is eventually carved out from delta state the existing laws only allows oil producing states to get only 13% of oil proceeds so know exactly where to direct ur anger to. |

They were not rescued, but abandoned by their abductors having been robbed and violated. The security agencies in Nigeria have never rescued anyone. |
| Re: Kidnapped Ondo Health Workers Rescued By Amotekun by xxxx999jon: 4:28pm On Mar 29 |
