Thundafireseun:Vague reportage without evidence. The outlets quote NAN as source but NAN doesn't have any article on their website. Nigeria is facing a fresh spike in egg prices, with a crate now selling as high as N8,500 in some retail outlets, driven largely by a shortage of day-old chicks (DOCs) that has constrained poultry production and tightened supply across the country.https://nairametrics.com/2026/03/29/egg-prices-rise-to-n8500-as-chick-shortage-tightens-supply-nationwide/ |

| Re: Egg Prices Surge To ₦8,500 Per Crate by LabStores: 10:16am On Mar 30 |
Just few years ago (LESS THAN FIVE YEARS), a crate was not even up to ₦1,000. Does this means that Nigerians will soon be buying one egg for up to ₦500 at restaurants? Egg is supposed to be the cheapest and the most affordable food and source of protein. In fact in many parts of the world, egg is subsidised and cheaper than water. What kind of government is this? No light No food Waiting for all those senseless and defenders of evil and GREEDY PEOPLE to also blame it on the war in the middle East. |
