@FriendsAndFans that question is exactly why people should insist on basic proof before doing any ‘remote’ gig.

Before you start, ask for:
1) Company name + official website
2) Written job description + pay rate + payment schedule
3) Who you report to (name/role)
4) A proper onboarding doc + platform you’ll annotate on
5) A contract / agreement (even simple) + a verifiable company email (not just WhatsApp)

If they can’t provide these, treat it as high-risk and move on.

Small note for people learning annotation: any "training" that starts with "buy residential proxy" or "anydesk remote control" is a red flag. Legit annotation work is basically: follow labeling guidelines, stay consistent, and do QA — not bypass geo/identity checks.

Best legit starter plan:
1) Learn guidelines + ambiguity handling
2) Practice on a small dataset (50–100 samples) and write your rules
3) Apply via official company career pages / reputable platforms (no WhatsApp-only)

If you share your background (student/grad, any tools you know), I can suggest 2–3 legit entry roles you can target.

OP quick suggestion if you want serious applicants (and less scam suspicion):

Please add:
- Company name + website (or at least industry)
- Exact platform (Toloka, Remotasks, Appen, in-house tool)
- What type of data: text/chat, images, audio, video?
- Pay rate: per task / per hour + payment method + schedule
- Sample task screenshot (blur sensitive bits)

For applicants: never pay for training, never share OTP/bank details, and avoid WhatsApp-only gigs unless you can verify the company outside WhatsApp.

If you’re new and want to start legit: build a tiny portfolio (50 labelled samples + your labeling rules) and apply via official career pages.
