I wrote it here yesterday that it is the comments of our country men and women on social media and Nairaland towards their perceived home rivals that give some of this outsiders the impetus to attack and badmouth us as Nigerians. The most annoying thing is how the home media publicized it as an attack on the SA traditional stool without showing us any of the SA laws our neighbors from the east violated.

We should be wiser.

This Igwe idea in another man's land is like aborted colonialism or Islamisation agenda in Europe. Wise people will resist the nonsense with their blood.

I do not seem to understand this message. It seems to bot deny and acknowledge the allegations at the same time
The message is very simple. Yes, there was a social event of the Igbo people in that area where they chose one of them as an Igwe among them in that area to help co-ordinate their affairs. His title is purely ceremonial without any political, territorial or constitutional ambition or effect. It is purely a ceremonial thing without any real power both over there in even here in Nigeria. Therefore, there's no any course for alarm. Every Nigerian and Igbo people there remain subjects to the laws and powers that control the land, traditional institutions and government of South Africa.
This is how it has been for ages both in other cities and regions in Nigeria until some enemies and haters of Igbos started to misinterpret this particular practice and blow it out of proportion just to paint Igbos as bad people.

What’s the arrogance in someone practicing his or her tradition? If that’s what arrogance means to you, we owe nobody any apology and we will continue to practice our tradition just as our fathers before us did and our children after us will continue in that same “arrogance.”
It is non-negotiable!

We know the people inciting foreigners against Igbos

Re: Nigerian High Commission Debunks Igbo King Coronation In South Africa by ello29(m): 10:04am On Mar 31
If Nigerian government and Smart they should sue South Africa for damages. No evidence of such coronation. It is just a way to destroy Nigerian image, damage and steal innocent immigrants property
Re: Nigerian High Commission Debunks Igbo King Coronation In South Africa by bjdon: 10:37am On Mar 31
All Nigerians in Diaspora need to learn to 'Read the room'. If you are in a country like South Africa, that already has deep hostility to foreigners, you need to keep your head down and not draw attention to yourselves. Most Igbo's come home from xmas, they could easily have done this ceremony back home. Black South Africans are very bitter people(Similar to Black Americans) so our people need to learn to tread with caution. No be everywhere you go show yourself

They know very well he wasn't killed by South Africans but in order to drive a narrative they have to force themselves to believe it was South Africans.Even when the evidence that proves otherwise comes to bare they will still fight the truth just so they can hold on to a lie...just to demonise South Africa people. You can never have a logical debate with these people, especially when the name "South Africa" appears..oh damn do they lose their sh11t lol

Oga, they told you that nothing of such happened and you are still trying everything within your ugly mind to make it happen.

Is it NK that gave this press release or that debunked it?

Getout!
Looking from the press statements of the consulate and the video of the head of mission they never claimed that the incident didn't occure rather they are saying the man and his co travellers are clown that have no legal or traditional recognition anywhere and should be ignored as just an expression their cultural values taken too far.

Forget this your bla bla bla statement, it was a legal over reach for anyone to declare himself with the support of any number of co nuisance as a chief. Our any-how-ness in Nigeria is too much, in the united Kingdom or anywhere in Europe you can not become a lord of a manor or a dame and address yourself as such publicly without a letter from the king and the state recognising your claim, you can be arrested for impersonation.

But in Nigeria we have all sorts of Atunba, yeye this and that, bobakeye, eze and kings in every hamlet, some people who were no more than warrant chiefs a dacse ago suddenly become kings because a governor wills it, that is in serious contravention of our historical knowledge, cultural heritage.

Nigeria needs to curb this menace, and sort out it's chieftaincy laws dispassionately.

No king should have the authority to grant a chieftaincy title without legal authority in accordance with the chieftaincy laws of that state and proper assignment.

It's not a question of kingship rather one of right to title.
If the state in Nigeria wants to enact a right to title it can using legislative authority to establish such title and then give a commission to an individual to hold that title and use it publicly.

If states were serious in Nigeria the issue of eze ndigbo is constitutional and has already been resolved in law.

The law vests chieftaincy with states and local governments, so therefore it's becomes illegal for anyone to call himself baálé, chief or eze ndigbo even if all the people in that community insist on it.

Nigeria needs to address the run away issue of chieftaincy award by kings. A king should not have the authority to grant a chieftaincy without the constitutional backing from the local governments council supported by traditional rites.

Despite this you have people who still want to run to the streets to protest illegal immigration in the guise of a so called "coronation" of a King by a Nigerian.

In the end it will be much ado about nothing.

I didn't know this existed in Law. I thought customary matters were vested in traditional settings in alignment with the constitution of course.

The best everywhere but Nigeria. It's easy to latch and crowbar yourself on the foundation laid by other men in host countries than it is to creat your own from the ground up.Why is it whenever you become "the best" at something is always far away from your native soil? LoL

No one is jealous of you, definitely not us South Africans. You literally don't even have anything we admire.
If we aspired to be like them we would have welcomed and even invited more Igbo and Nigerian kings to come lead us in their "greatness". Instead they're being rejected. Imagine a whole "king" being told to voetsek 😂😂😂

That whole "king" was not a king. It is much ado about nothing.

This is really resentment and propaganda about how the immigrants are coming to take over.
