AyobamiOluwole:Not advisable |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Unfaized: 10:03am On Mar 31 |
AyobamiOluwole:He is correct. Your pack cannot function EFFICIENTLY if; Batteries are of significantly different age From different manufacturers. Totally different bms. That's why it's not recommended. Doesn't mean it won't work, but eventually to your own detriment. |

Good morning house. Please I am in need to have some inverters repaired. Is there per chances anybody in this forum into inverter repairs in Ilorin -Ogbomoso- Ibadan axis? Many thanks |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by AyobamiOluwole: 10:42am On Mar 31 |
Unfaized:First of all, the guy gaslighted the op by saying he wants to “Series” the batteries. The Op never said he is going to series two different batteries (only if I missed that part from their earlier posts). Secondly, you and the guy in question are partially correct. Yes, different BMS can cause conflict in the cell balancing and all that. But A BMS is not the main factor even. The most important thing is the battery chemistry, same Capacity, their discharge rate, same age etc. That both BMS are the same no mean say it will coordinate between batteries in Series. Lols. Thirdly, the safest and most important thing to tell the op is that he should jejely get himself a 24V (if he is trying to series two 12V batteries) battery. LifePo4 batteries of the same Voltage are more forgiving when they are connected in parallel. Omo, I don’t intend to make this post as long as that of Oga Bassdow 😂😂 |

Unfaized:Ok. Thanks! |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Gshems: 1:08pm On Mar 31 |
AyobamiOluwole:No. Better to buy a pure sine wave. That modified some wave dey get choco sometimes even with phone charger |

Gshems:Alright Boss. Thanks |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by sofdoc1: 1:58pm On Mar 31 |
AyobamiOluwole:I have the 210l capacity of the LG, I've powered it with a very sachet inverter (150W) whenever there hasn't been light for a couple of years now. It works fine, buh I'm not comfortable with it. LG have some rugged electronics as I've seen. I even powered my LG TV with the same inverter but stopped when I was hearing that humming sound from the TV. Pure sine wave is more advisable, so you go rest. I'm in the market for one myself. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 2:06pm On Mar 31 |
Bankyshinani:so long the difference ain't much, no issue. Just understand there always would be tradeOffs but wouldn't matter much so once again, no issue. Just ensure they are same technology e.g both are halfCut, both are MONO, etc else you would unnecessarily degrade output |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 2:12pm On Mar 31 |
codemaster2much:would suggest you don't go this route EXCEPT said battery is REALLY still good + quality. If you must buy Lithium, ensure you buy brand NEW or can confirm it's a quality USEd one still in good condition. Don't rely only on what you told by SELLer as reason for wanting to sell. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 2:17pm On Mar 31 |
AyobamiOluwole:it would work BUT not Optimal. You end up draining the battery more + risk damaging that compressor SOONer or LATEr. In fact Modified Sine Wave should be among things in Museums. Wonder why you guys prefer trashing leadAcid based batteries that still got lots of Advantages, BUT still wanna use ModifiedSineWave inverters. See eh, e go work BUT to your own detriment |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by AyobamiOluwole: 2:19pm On Mar 31 |
sofdoc1:That’s good. Mine also powered my fridge, but I know that my compressor will pay for it in a matter of time if I continue. The dilemma here is that I know too well, I’ll moving out of the country sooner than later, and it’s difficult choice to get these things now. I’ll keep depending on NEPA for my heavy appliances, ALAS NEPA has been holding the light these period. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by AyobamiOluwole: 2:23pm On Mar 31 |
bassdow:Wahala for who dey use MSW inverters 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Personally, I don’t really rely much on it (though it is my first inverter when I got into solar) because I’m still tied to grid. But this current NEPA issue is giving me concerns lately. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 2:31pm On Mar 31 |
AyobamiOluwole:Bros abeg cool down and Buy that quality PureSineWave inverter no matter the cost so your appliances don't pay the price. Don't worry, when it's time to Travel out, you can always sell them back to those of us that can't afford the price of Brand New Quality items as a Used one for CHEAP make we sef follow rub shoulder abi how you see am. Victron, groWatt (especially the models with PLUS), SRNE, GENUS, PRAG, etc; are some of the quality ones in the market. You fit even consider the transformer based + nonHybrid ones so that those of us wey don swear say we no go advance like our peers wouldn't be left out. |

| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by codemaster2much: 3:26pm On Mar 31 |
bassdow:thanks for this wisdom chief, from what you saying it seem you wouldn't 100%advise people to go with lifep04 and also do you think cworth at 220k for 100ah is OK, I reach out to their customer service they said they don't have 100ah on ground at the moment that I should check in a months time s |

Good afternoon, so i plan to proceed with my installation but could you kindly help me vet this list. Thanks alot |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 5:47pm On Mar 31*. Modified: 6:08pm On Mar 31 |
Bankyshinani:you mean both are MONO but both are not halfCut ? if issue is BOTH are not halfCut, no much wahala, continue using them like that BUT as money comes, buy more halfCuts so you phase out the Ordinary ones. Hopefully, the solar panels are at least 400w each so you don't end up having lots of 200w panels |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 6:00pm On Mar 31*. Modified: 6:47pm On Mar 31 |
QuoteJust1nce:We can't really make much reasoning of this quote as it lacks lots of basic data e.g flexible pipes, surge protectors, DC and AC cables, Bush Bar, Breakers, etc all have specs and capacities hence one can't easily say the cost of the 6mm is too high or low as we don't even know it's length or their brand names. We don't even know your location, or if it's a full fledged company handling things. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by QuoteJust1nce: 6:03pm On Mar 31 |
bassdow:I am not trying to scrutinize the quote to the barest minimum, just checking if it's within spec for the said install. Thanks Lasgidi |

Good evening guys, I have been looking for a good inverter and I am considering the growatt SPF ES 6000 because on paper it looks like an unbelievable deal but it's not be available everywhere I check. Has it been phased out by Growatt or the demand is too high? |

Just got the 725w jinko bifacial panel today... It's too big, infact, it's over big..... Installer fit fall while trying to bring them up to the roof |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by justasitis: 9:12pm On Mar 31 |
QuoteJust1nce:This is excessive for a 6kVa and 16KWh setup, I will advise you cut down on the quantity of some of the accessories and buy a higher capacity inverter that will give you more power when needed and you won’t have to spend on upgrading anytime soon. |
