So many avoidable deaths, but the carefree attitude of those in authority continue to put us at risks.

Negligence, carelessness. Nonchalancy.

Whether it was due to power interruption or Technical issues, a thorough investigation must be done to unravel the cause. Heads must roll.
I'm a local man. I haven't even seen a lift, elevator or escalator before except in movies. But I have heard a lot about these.

I can't count how many times I was trapped inside Unilag Art building elevator back in the day. The best thing to do if you ever find yourself in such situation is not to panic. If you panic you use up more of the limited oxygen you have in there.

... my brother the thing weak me, and they will come and install lift, Village people trying to behave like westerners.

Why will a high rise building not have a stand by generator and only depend on Nepa light for a country like Nigeria? There should be a law for anyone building a high rise building to have an immediate standby generator or else not build at all. Secondly a life imprisonment for the owner of such building should anyone die as a result of Suffocation and 50years imprisonment should anyone be trapped in a lifter upto 30min.

My Uncle was in Abuja ,His Wife Prefers 5th Floor ,He says he would go Look for another Hotel that is just one Story Building without a Lift ... Uncle don see Shege before in Lagos when he Visited a Bank at Marina ..Lift Problem no be here ooooo
