That means starting from May 1st of this year, all Nigeria products, 100%, will enjoy zero tariff that will be exported to China.”[color( quote)

This is a very selfish policy only to benefit China, what we export to China is a drop in the ocean compared to what we import from chine, I believe the policy should be the other way round if China really wants to assist us save money

Tinubu is working .

Trump simply handed the crown 👑 to China.

Years from now, Americans would be spitting on his grave.

China China China lol not on imports but exports that’s sending our raw materials etc to China on a free clearance lol. China will never do things they won’t benefit from. Think about it, what finished goods do we have that Chinese don’t have ? We don’t have anything to send to China just our raw materials. Lol lol lol

Go to plateau and say this
let's see what becomes of you

What has Tinubu got to do with this
we know the people that trade with China
and what china gains from such transactions
It's not about people buying fake products from china to come sell here as original. The news is about real exporters of goods out of Nigeria.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Funny policy what does Nigeria have to export? Raw material for Chinese factories? Or encouraging factories facing problems in China maybe due to extra wage demand or environmental concerns to move to Nigeria and export their products to China and from there to the world?
This is an opportunity for people like you to wake up instead of constantly complaining bitterly online.

Ignore those dullards, the trade deficit between the two countries is too much, there's absolutely no significant benefit to Nigeria.
If you weren't a dullard yourself you'd have known that this is an opportunity for Nigerians to step up.

How much is Nigeria exporting to China?

Reciprocity: Tinubu should make similar law and approve zero percent levy on imports from China.
This is your opportunity to make money since nobody is exporting to China from Nigeria. Billionaire in a few months.

Zero tariff ...but who would be exporting to China? .... Nigerians? And we wonder why China was so eager to build the deep water port ....and still wondering how we as a nation are benefiting.

Chinese companies in nigeria will control everything.

nigerians wont benefit
i suspect they want to create cheap labour here and then send finished goods back to their country.

China already building factories in Nigeria. It might endup becoming Chinese factories with Nigerian cheap labour exports Nigerian made by Chinese factories to china. Chinese are really smart people. The game is rigged. It’s like giving your junior bro 5 goals ahead of a Fifa game, knowing that he won’t still win you. Even if Nigeria produces anything, we can’t outcompete these guys, except we sell our products for ridiculously cheap prices.
Re: China Agrees Zero Tariff On Nigeria’s Export From May 1 by sgcrown(m): 5:27am On Apr 01
I aren't seeing this as a good news for Nigeria though...

The thing is, the Chinese coys are the minners of our raw materials. They'd mine here after getting wuru-wuru license from the corrupt civil servants, then send the raw materials to China to process to finished goods, then import back to Nigeria at seemingly affordable price but with inferior quality.

They send top notch qualities of the finished products made from our raw materials to other nations they consider serious.

Go and research about the gold mining coy in Osun state. They've destroyed villages with consistent blasts and dredging. It isn't their fault, but our government's.

See a foreign country trying to help Nigeria better than the vegetable at the helm of affairs......it is either Nigerians sorting themselves out or foreigners helping them out while the vegetable only show face when it's time to loot.

Anyway this deal might not be of much significance seeing Nigeria doesn't export that much to China.
And you are getting ready to vote for Atiku? hoping for a VP in the incompetent, incoherent, bumbling, mumbling Agulu man?

You guys don't even know what proforma invoice is.

So how can you know the difference between export and import?

It is the Chinese buyer that pays the import duty to the Chinese government.
Nigerian sellers pay export duty to Nigerian government.

In summary, it is the Chinese buyers that will benfit from the zero tariff from China.

Most of those raw materials are gotten from areas prone to insecurities which one way or the other the Chinese interests enabled. Some of these issues of herders farmers clashes where the indigenous People are displaced is because of the natural resources.

And you don't know how international trade works. Let me break it down.

The Chinese buyer buying from you the exporter from Nigeria pushes any tariff burden on you. If he is to pay 100 Naira for the log of timber (I just gave you a hint one of the exportation young Nigerians are silently making money on) and his country put a tariff of 20 Naira, he will not be willing to pay 100 Naira anymore but rather 80 Naira to offset the tariff.

That is why exporters direct their goods towards countries with low tariffs because the buyers there tend to buy at better rate than those with high tariffs. Now with zero tariff, it means they can buy at the highest possible price from you the exporter.

Great but what do we really export to China that should positively impact our economy? What? They cheaply cart away our mineral and natural resources? They simply made it easier to keep doing so!!

Even AI knows from the headline that zero tariffs means zero export when calculating tax. Simple grammar will ruin this country on a very good day with these present politicians
