Premiumbuy:The opposite of prayer isn't a curse; it’s indifference. Just because I choose not to beg doesn't mean I’m harboring ill will. I simply don't believe in constantly offloading my problems onto others, even if that’s what you expect of me. I believe I was created to be a problem-solver—someone who fixes things internally. We are talking about the same Creator, but while you are focused on the 'ask,' I am focused on the 'thank you.' I’ve reached a point where gratitude is my primary form of communication. I only thank him and move on and I don’t expect any miracles but he still does some and I thank him but I don’t just go asking for favors always. |

SpencerForbes:The opposite of prayer is not indifference but pride, atheism, stubborness, rebellion and self reliance. And that is why I said continue as you plan let us see where it would take you |

Dtruthspeaker:Let’s clarify some definitions. Atheism is the lack of belief in God. I, however, believe in God’s existence and His goodwill—that is my conviction, not yours. Believing in God but also believing in personal responsibility does not make one an atheist. I also believe in the gift of freewill; the power to shape my own life while trusting that He can intervene without me constantly shouting for attention. Since when did self-reliance become a negative trait? You can label it 'pride' all you want, but that’s your internal projection. Your talk of 'pride' is merely a figment of your imagination. My advice? Focus on providing for your own basic needs especially food; once you are self-sufficient in the small things, your capacity for critical thinking will improve and you’ll be able to rely on yourself for small things while God handle the larger ones without your whining. I’m guessing you’re still job hunting that’s why your mentality is on whining daily. |

SpencerForbes:If you think atheism is just about lack of belief in God's existence, clearly your denial mode is still on "On" And denial is one of the marks of an atheist. You even lie which is another mark of an atheist. And here you are saying that prayers don't work, another mark of an atheist. Not to talk of your silly pride and belief in yourself. So, even in just this post, you have shown already who and what an atheist is and have ticked their boxes. And this is not to forget that the other day on another thread you even insalted and abused God blatantly. As i said continue as you plan let us see where it would take you |

SpencerForbes:Who do you think says the bold? Answer: Atheists And, you were the one who wrongly defined atheist and so, as you rightly observed, i listed your own character this played here which show that the definition of atheists is more than the definition which you gave it, thereby freeing me from having to define it. And on your "cursing" God, it is now between you and Him. I and the thread are just standing as a witnesses waiting to enter the witness box and testify And in all these as i said continue as you plan let us see where it would take you |

ProphEkene:It depends on the type of prayer you're referring to. There are two types: personal prayer to change one's personal circumstances for good , and intercessory prayer to change or influence external circumstances and persons for one's benefit. For the former, there is enough evidence to support its effectiveness in changing or improving personal circumstances. It can lead to improved health outcomes, in some cases miraculous healing (which I have personally experienced and know others who have too) , or it can act as confidence booster helping one say and do what they wouldn't ordinary do. Messi and Ronaldo usually make the sign of the cross when entering the field of play or after scoring a goal. In fact most successful sports men do the same as confidence booster.. What matters is the individual belief, not the object of belief When it comes to the latter , intercessory prayer, the evidence is scant. It's difficult to tell whether an individual or group prayer has changed anything external. The truth , which some would reject, is that prayer cannot change external circumstances in a direct magical way, such as praying for your favourite team to win the league or for the sun to "stand still" for your sake. When it comes to external circumstances and other people, prayer, when done with genuine belief and sincerity, can fire neurons in your brain and propel you to take steps that position you in the right place at the right time to seize opportunities in your environment. In other words, you cannot use prayer to change external circumstances, but you can use it to change your position within external circumstances to seize opportunities in your environment. This is how prayer works, not by God magically depositing money in your bank account. Of course, that's what many people, believers and non believers alike, expect when they pray or think of it, and when it doesn't happen that way, they either start to doubt or declare that prayer doesn't work Even those who say they don't pray may have prayed without knowing it. If you have a good plan for what you want to achieve and expect to succeed without doubting it during the planning stage, you are praying. Why? Because successful prayer depend on the individual expectation. As the saying goes, "if you expect to succeed , you surely will". If you expect to fail, no matter what you do , you will either fail , or struggle to succeed ". If you succeed at all, it would not be what you really want. |

ProphEkene:Prayer works. There was one time I prayed a heartfelt prayer about something, then I took my mind off it. Would you believe that when that prayer was answered, I remembered that I prayed about it? Since then, it has boost my faith to pray about everything. Even the littlest of things. If you want to train yourself in prayer and grow, start with praying about little things. As you see your prayers become your reality, it'll boost your faith to pray about big things. Also, pray continuously and consistently. Aside praying for what we want, the most important thing is prayer keeps your closer to GOD. The more you're closer to GOD, the more your spirit is filled. |

SpencerForbes:Premium peace Be Unto You Omo! Your level of self reliance is way above my own. I still put God first in whatever I do not thinking he has given me everything needed to go through whatever difficulties. However, I think I'm going to work on expecting the worst outcome while putting my best effort. We learn everyday. Thank you. |

Premiumbuy:I wouldn’t necessarily advise you to follow my lead. Just because a specific path worked for me doesn’t mean it’s a universal blueprint. You have to find your own rhythm. There are times I consider going back to the 'original' way, but I don’t think I can—and I hope circumstances never force my hand because I haven't built my mindset for that. If constant prayer works for you, then study that pattern and stick to it. I don’t advocate for my way because it’s a lonely, cautious road that doesn't fit everyone's lifestyle. This is just my honest perspective, not a claim that other paths are invalid. |
