Sanwo-olu Inspects Tolu Schools Complex Which Will Serve Over 20,000 Students

Today, I visited the newly constructed Tolu Schools Complex to assess progress ahead of its commissioning.

This complex brings together 36 schools across primary, junior, and senior secondary levels, spread over 11.7 hectares. It is set to serve over 20,000 students and stands as the largest school community in Africa, with well-equipped classrooms, football fields, basketball courts and other modern facilities.

Education remains central to our vision for Lagos and we will continue to ensure every child has access to a quality learning environment.

I appreciate the warm reception from residents and the students I met. Your support encourages us to keep going and we remain committed to serving you.

It belongs to Lagos state government, not a private business.

I am sure their first day in that school, those naughty students will spoil something deliberately. No be AJ students?
At least apapa public schools will be free a bit. Majority of them trek from AJ to apapa to go for public schools but they are too troublesome. Always throwing stones and fighting every time.

If/when the complex is completed, what will be the new ratio of public schools to private ones in the state, which has been using Tinubu’s progressive governance master plan for 27 years huh

Ratio of public to private schools in Lagos State is one to 22 ― Commissioner
September 4, 2022

The Lagos State government has said the ratio of public to private schools at both primary and secondary school levels in the state is one to 22.

The state’s Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo, gave the revelation in her remark at the 2022 edition of the Total School Support Seminar Exhibition (TOSSE) held at Oregun in Ikeja between Thursday and Friday.

If education is so crucial to sustainable development then why have APC progressive governors of Lagos State failed to employ up to 19,500 teachers since 1999?

This is the number employed by Makinde in just five years.

WHO SAYS 4 YEARS IN OFFICE IS NOT ENOUGH FOR MEANINGFUL ACHIEVEMENTS?

IT'S A FACT THAT 90% OF GOVERNORS IN NIGERIA SINCE 1999 WITH REVENUES AT THEIR DISPOSAL CANNOT BOAST OF A QUARTER OF THESE ACHIEVEMENTS EVEN WITHIN THEIR EIGHT YEARS IN OFFICE.

Building schools is good ...no doubt ....but having 20K students in one complex? Why?...so that it will be th biggest in Africa? That's a recipe for disaster. I can guarantee it will be a breeding ground for gangs and a battlefield. It is also very likely to be a ground zero for diseases They should show us the toilet facilities. If universities ...with wayyyy less and older student populations.... have deplorable toilet facilities.... what can we expect from such a large number of students most of which are not used to this? I just hope we can get an update in a years time.
