Even if income poverty is low, other deprivation indicators may not be:
For example:
In Ebonyi or Osun:
infrastructure gaps
unemployment
poor healthcare access
A purely income-based metric ignores:
education quality
sanitation
energy access
A multidimensional poverty index could tell a very different story.
Ebonyi will still dust Osun in these. What's your point ?

it is a lie from hell. Add what they get from directly mining and selling resources to what thier imams and malams recieve and you have them dwarf the south in allocation.
Over N1 trilion agric intervention also heads to that region. Many foreign NGO are active there also.

So what poverty are we looking at in the north?
Poor people who feed the nation and can block food passage down south are not actually poor.
Malnutrition statistics are worst in the north. What's your point ?

His people are getting VAT, religious subsidy, agric subsidy and more every year. Can Igbo boast of those?
They are getting this and that, why are the northern States poorest in all statistics then ? Are they cursed or what?

The reason the SE states are up there is coz of their non dependence on government for anything. Growing up in my village in imo, we were trained to never expect anything from anyone, not even the government. U go-to Hussle your way to anything. my people did everything by their selves, be it transformer, water, health centre even up to the up to the imo airport.
"Did everything by their selves" hmmm

They arent the poorest. It is a time-tested strategy to stay ahead while playing the victim of a system they help create and sustain.

Core Northerners shaaa

As for Lagos, its just there for obvious reasons, if not it would be competing with every other South West State..
This statistics are not entirely true. Northerners are pretenders. They use this trick as a means to keep collecting aids from govt and abroad. They have the population who move to south for business with very low standard of living, make a lot of savings and return to their home to farm and invest. They re indeed wiser

However, with the billions these northern states spend sending people to Mecca to pray annually, I wonder want they go there to pray for, it is evident prayer solves nothing.

I know South Eastern States will top the chat... All the south Eastern States have very low poverty and this is due to low dependency on government, central etc.....
Exactly!... that's another reason people who depend on others for survival are also impoverished.

Northern politicians and elite impoverishing their people since 1900.
It then begs the question of just how their fortunes would be if Nigeria disintegrates and they have to stand on their own as a independent country!? All they ever seem to be concerned about is how to scheme and plot to grab power at the centre, as well as how to use access and control of power at the centre to further enrich their Forbes rated billionaires!

It's called being clever-by-half or being too 'smart' and too greedy for ones own good! And this goes to their elite....their masses are just too ignorant and pauperized and could be said to have diminished responsibility as a result!

Probably low education leading to low balanced diet and generally inflation is more in south than north prices of food is cheaper hence lower wages and this starts use such indices like wages, if you have been to kano and Kaduna you will see a lot of urban development they are also many southerners in those states vice versa many of which are living comfortably and some poor I think the major problem of the north is large family structures that makes education of children, feeding, investments and migration harder(during interstate migration a southerner might have more money at disposal to start life) as family remains a major source of finance

A small village with 1 dollar multi billionaire alhaji with the rest of the population extremely poor and illiterate is a poor village compared to another rich small village with no single dollar multi billionaire alhaji but almost 90% are in the middle class and well educated.
