Hahaha, this is interesting and it once again proves the statement that says "Man's need are insatiable" lol

I'll like to know though, what was it like working in Supply Chain, was it a full time desk job? or did it involve a bit of traveling?
I also heard that NLNG has a good remote culture for the business guys, where you necessarily do not have to be physically present at the job each day, how true is that?

And finally, depending on how much information you are allowed to share on here and how much spare time you have, could you GIST us on what your day to day work life was like during your time working there?

Thank you Sir.
I can’t delve too much into this mostly for personal reasons

Very understandable.

I see people on X(Twitter) who are so loud about their candidacy in the NLNG process, I just dey laugh cause I’m sure if they get in, their engagements on X will reduce drastically, and if it doesn’t, they’ll rarely say or post anything about them working for NLNG.

I know of a lady who got in the last time, was a social media socialite, was always posting stuff, even pictures of her during training school and all that, I noticed suddenly she rarely posted anything again, recently e come be like say she don go incognito.

One other guy, he blurs out anything that has to do with the company logo, in his pictures you’ll only see his face, the others who are captured won’t even be clear.

I come dey wonder, I don’t know if there’s an OT (orientation) for that during the onboarding or if it comes naturally when you join the company.
Re: NLNG Recruitment 2025/2026 by DEW35: 9:37pm On Apr 02
I guess it's part of their safety orientation, but if you notice other employees with more years of experience, they don't care about things like that.

PH is “rough”. NLNG staff are “sweet target” if you know what I’m talking about. If you get k/napped it will get to the company. They will do their best to get you released. No one wants all of that drama. So everyone maintains a low profile. Apart from close family, anyone that asked, I told them “We sell gas in my company”. I wasn’t lying per se, but I was intentionally being vague. Many people thought it was LPG aka cooking gas. And I was fine with them thinking that

Yeah, I totally get.

My friend mentioned that he can’t even go from the office to the airport without an escort when he’s on a business trip, and I just went 🤐

Anyway, now reflecting on it, why are y’all running away from supply chain?

Two people I knew (intended to make them mentors cause I’m also interested in SCM) left already, one went to LNG Canada, the other one went to UN, come be like say supply chain nai dey get the most resignations.😂

May 26th should be the day we receive our offer letters if we’re to follow the same number of days between application deadline and receipt of offer letter for the 22/23 set, because that process lasted for 239 days (22nd November 2022 - 19th July 2023).

We’re currently 186 days into this campaign, on the 186th day they were already done with the AC for the Abuja folks and were doing that of Lagos.

Keep thinking you hear, why not engage yourself with other jobs instead of over depending on this job, have a back up plan, what if you are not shortlisted for Assessment Center are you telling me that you will not move on with your life?

You know 22/23 set didn't undergo 2 assessments like we did, (actually 3, if we consider the two batches of the 1st assessment separately) so you might need to factor that into your expectations.

But then, it's still very much possible for the process to be completed by July.

Not to forget that the application process began in September where as 22/23's set began in November.

I really like the way you are approaching the process. Wishing you all the very best.

In my time, there was no previous recruitment process to reference, as my set was the first to document the experience publicly, specifically on Nairaland.

A lot of factors could play out in a recruitment process; it could either be longer or shorter. If you noticed for those who did the second batch of the test in January, the result for second stage came out 2 weeks after second stage test for all of us, which means SHL automatically grades after each individual test, but your ranking depends on all candidates, and after the first batch in december, NLNG can decide to send next stage in 2 weeks if they wanted to or even 1 week; it's just that they have there pattern of their recruitment, which they probably always want to stick to

I have wanted to ask this but always get carried away, this is I think the 5th time you mentioned this "we sell gas" vagueness, I wonder what your response will be when someone presses you further with questions. People can be really clever when they want to extract information from you.

Yes, I realized that.

I’ve always searched for records of previous processes before 2007 but nothing seems to pop-up.

Thanks for your wishes, it’s my second trial so I’m basically doing it on vibes and Insha Allah, if it comes it comes, if it doesn’t, of course life moves on as usual.

My brother, as an NLNG employee, there will be signs. You have to be intentional about obfuscating those signs. Anyone pressing further, will get a “Oh, we sell cooking gas”. And that’s technically not a lie because they do sell LPG. Most people (dare I say 99% of people) will take that and leave you alone. The 1% that press further are looking for what they haven’t misplaced and will get silence as answer. It’s okay for them to speculate, but nobi my mouth dem go hear say “Abacha chop apple”. lol

Maybe I was a bit paranoid, but I didn’t want people to start coming to me with “Epp me pay rent” or “My children’s school fees are due”. Prior to NLNG, I worked for a small supply chain business that supplied Warehouse management services to P&G. Many of my acquaintances assumed I was a P&G staff. I received billing tire. So I had to wise up

Your set was a huge source of succour for 2013. Kuwena was like a legend to us cos that guy kept that thread alive for days. It almost feels like I have a personal relationship with him.
Re: NLNG Recruitment 2025/2026 by airsaylongcome: 5:29pm On Apr 03
I can’t find the comment now, but I read someone asking why I left Supply Chain.

So I stumbled into it actually. My core is IT, Computer Science specifically. I got hired by a small business that offered Warehouse Management and services to P&G. I was hired to manage the IT infrastructure. That sounds big (and I intentionally made it look bigger), but it was basically managing uptimes for the Database Server and Application servers. Small small my role escalated because I started “poke nosing” into the actual Warehouse process. Understanding the entire manufacturing and sales process especially around raw materials and finished goods inventory. Crazy crazy stuff. Many people have absolutely no idea how a bottle of Coke or a pack of detergents get to their homes. From being a complete Supply Chain “buffoon”, I started seeing myself in meetings with the P&G Nigeria Warehouse management and ultimately with very senior level management in P&G. My boss at the time (who owned the small business I worked for) started dragging me into meetings and basically leaving me to do presentations and defending SLAs. Great guy Bayo. He would fiercely defend his team in those meetings, but would privately “flog” the living daylights out of me for misses. Great 3-4 years I had with him until I moved to Bonny. So SCM wasn’t really my core, I stumbled into it.

But when core IT came calling again, “something” inside me woke up and I had to answer my “first love”. Okay my second love cos originally I thought I was going to be a surgeon. Until biological drawings showed me “shege”

Indeed, I think everyone who reads that thread would take a natural liking to Kuwena.

First time I was reading it I was just praying he got in, nevertheless, life happens and I’m happy for him regardless. I was even trying to know who he was in real life cause I needed to connect with such a legend.

When people ask what I do for a living, I usually start with, “I work for a gas company.” Then I release information in phases, depending on how inquisitive they are.

It is a simple survival strategy really. You limit information for your own good - security, black tax, and unnecessary overfamiliarity.

At some point I started saying, “I work with models,” because, as an economist, that is technically true.

Unfortunately, one day at a dinner party, an aspiring fashion model heard that and locked into a very enthusiastic conversation with me. Somewhere in the middle of it, I had to clarify that I meant economic models.

The disappointment was immediate.

I never got to meet Kuwena in person, but I did run into Opoks during my first week - guy was working just nearby.

Funny enough, a lot of us from that original “Which Way NLNG” thread are still solid till today. Real ones.

A friend got into seplat last year. He used to be a socialite who posts almost everything on his WhatsApp status. Since he got in, many things have changed about him - near-zero posts with very limited social media presence. I think it’s both security and black tax management strategy.
