Interesting. I always say most of us have been brainwashed from young through Hollywood movies...they make us believe the US military is invincible.

The one rescued may not survive it. They don’t usually survive, if how the ejection happened was too dangerous and not in a position the plane his upright and in slow speed.

The reason why they try to eject is because if enemies could catch them, miraculously, alive, enemies can extract info from them or use them to negotiate some deals.

Even after ejecting safely, they have to glide towards where there’s no enemy. They way end up on water (if the accident happens again sea) or in thick forest where dangerous animals are. That’s where there knowledge of survival kicks in, with the little survival apparatus on them.
