I have done something like this before, it was a software we use then. I think loft software. The payment was in dollars then. I think like 10 dollars per hour, I am not sure but I know it was more than this 4k. The task was a tedious one then o.

Firstly, each audio is 0.4-0.6mb. Even accounting for overhead, that's 300mb/day, so about 9gb/mo. 4k (a day's pay) can get you 15gb/mo (on Airtel), which is more than enough for a month's workload. Again, 1 day's pay can get you enough data to do the role for 1 month.

Second, yes, annotator roles pay more - because they're much more tedious. You may get $10 per hour of annotated content, but annotating an hour of content from scratch can take 7+ hours.

This, however, takes 3-4 hours, based on stats from dozens of reviewers in Nigeria (with unstable power supply) doing this role over the past few weeks. That's before considering you get faster with practice, so you end up spending 2.5-3 hours once you get the hang of it. I've also done it many times, because I wouldn't give out a task I can't do, and I get 300 audios done in 2-2.5 hours. The audios are already transcribed (your job is to ensure transcriptions are accurate), and you can play them at 1.25x, 1.5x, 1.75x, or 2x speed, which further condenses real-world review time.

I know it's little for some, but that's ₦120k/mo for (at most) 4-5 hours of work daily (closer to 2-3 once you get good at it). Even without considering that the role is completely remote, that's much better than what most entry-level jobs offer.

If you still think it's too much to ask, that's fair; I can't compel you, but I'd rather have this done by us (so we reap the benefits) than ship it off to China where it can be done in labor farms for a fraction of the cost.

And to accurately do this, one is required to replay about 2-3 times and in most cases more than that. If there is anyone who U have hired that can claim they transcribe 300 audios within a day and not even 3-4 hrs, tell them to come here and prove me wrong. What U wrote are complete statistical jargons far from reality.

I fear there's been a misunderstanding here...

You're not to do the transcriptions; the audios are already transcribed.

I said this in the post, but each audio is about 25 seconds, so 300 is 7500 seconds (just over 2 hours). It doesn't take a day to transcribe 2 hours, not to talk about correcting already-made transcriptions, which takes even less time.

and you think those that outsource it to you don't know about China, Bangladesh and India for such, even at that you can't pay such labour wage to workers in those country, your international client knows this and have to outsource it to you in a good price, we all know every one want to make gains, yes but then consider power, data and sitting one place for such amount, bricklayer can make such with one bag of cement concrete pouring on site

And for the OP, it helps credibility if you add: company name + website/LinkedIn, exact pay (per hour/day), payment schedule, and a proper email application channel (not only WhatsApp). Remote roles attract scammers, so more verification details = more serious applicants.
