Precious201010:If 80% of the population lives in abject poverty, that also means a small percentage controls a large share of the country’s wealth. So while I’m not saying the report about Congolese players being promised $1 million each is confirmed, it’s not impossible either—given the level of resources and wealth that exist in DR Congo. |

TheCongo2:my brother it is not possible, ordinary 100k dollars that Tinubu promised our players the country almost exploded... |

TheCongo2:U can't compare na, the car was not even up to 35k dollars, my brother no African country can give each player a million dollars.... Even European countries cannot do that... Na only Arab nations fit do am. |

Precious201010:Are you saying those brand-new SUVs cost less than $35K? In which country exactly? Also, we have African players earning millions in Angola and across Europe—so are you saying clubs have more financial capacity than entire countries? That doesn’t really add up. |

TheCongo2:check the link U posted na, 2016, how much was suv in 2016.... And for Ur information no African country that is paying any players millions of dollars, mention one African player that is earning up to a million dollars.. And yes clubs pays more than countries. And I repeat, no African country that can give 1 million dollars to all the players each |

TheCongo2:That's where you get it wrong , the predictable ones to some extent don't have good odds , sometimes they don't even have odds. The games with good odds are most likely not going drop. What they feed on is greed not necessarily on unpredictability of the outcome. For example , do you think they'll give Egypt any odd not to win the world cup , if there's such a odd everybody would be picking that |

Precious201010:First, 2016 is not 50 years ago—SUVs were not cheap to the point you’re suggesting. Second, you said no African player has earned up to a million—let’s correct that. About 16 years ago, Mabi Mputu turned down an offer linked to Arsène Wenger at Arsenal F.C. to stay at TP Mazembe. Then he moved to Atlético Sport Aviação (ASA) (Kabuscop) in Angola and reportedly earned more than $1 million in 1 year. So clearly, money exists in African football systems too. Now imagine what a country with far greater resources could potentially mobilize—it’s not as impossible as you’re making it sound. |

TheCongo2:then you're completely misunderstanding me, I mean no African player earns 1 million dollars as wages... Am not talking full year salary, ask anyone that knows cars, in 2016 35k dollars can get u a good SUV brand new.... In 2018 I bought a Nigerian used carrina 2 for 200k... I repeat, no African country not even European country that can give each players 1 million dollars.... Na only Saudi or Qatar fit do that one. |

Pacesetter123:The last time Nigeria was at the world cup, they got past the group stage. Congo beat Jamaica in extra time. Not in 90mins. Don't make it look like Congo did it with ease. SE were playing politics on the pitch in those first group games of the qualifiers and that is what spoiled their chances of qualifying. They were working against the former coach and it was really obvious. The day SE decides to play as a team under a coach, that day we would see a better version of them. Take it or leave it. I'd love to see Congo get at least 3pts in that group. Lastly, don't compare friendlies to competitive games |
