So fathers are born to suffer. They don't deserve to eat the fruits of their labours too?
The news is about a mum.

That is why men should wisen up. Pay the kids school fees yourself do not give madam the money to pay because the kids will say it was mummy that paid my fees. Give them pocket money, run their expenses, take them shopping etc yourself, give them easy and comfortable access to you as the man, not the one that later a child will say you were not there as a father.
Cook all their meals by yourself, spend all your time with them, be the one to attend to their illnesses and injuries. In Ighalo's case, be the one searching for boots from Ajegunle to Badagry. Sebi you want all the accolades children give their mothers when they're made, you must do all the work that got them there.

Not all women are good and intelligent mothers

And vice versa

If you have a godly woman as mother you are blessed

What's your point?

Footballers dont retire due to age?

As for relevance, he is still involved as a match day analyst for global for DSTV like the likes of Henry, Micah and Carragher.

I think it's just a man's thing where men don't boast of their achievements. It's their duty to take care of the home. You see how women will tell you that they should be paid for taking care of their own homes and children. Then say men do nothing. Women will remind you of everything, dem no de forget. Things like this no de move man because that's why he is a father. He shows it in the result, not in sentimental pieces of life.

As a man take care of yourself ooo

Don't plan to wait for your children at old age because your wife can make you feel clueless at old age

Children will remember you once in a month and remember their mother 2wice in a week

Just do your best for your children in form of charity, don't expect anything as a man

Do you know that among the three top guys from Edo state only Ighalo’ parent is alive? So I quite understand why the guy made that comment about mother eating the fruit of her Labour.

Nice. Happy for Ighalo's mother. Families go through a lot in those first 3 decades of any man's life.

To those who have cornered another woman's son all because of money, you will get your well-deserved rewards in due season cool .

Yeah, I feel you. But you see with how things are these days, men now need to come out of the background. Aside just the results you have to show in the sentimental pieces (using your words), don't do it in the background assuming your reward will be in heaven, do it korokoro so the kids will not say tomorrow it was their mummy who sweated for them.
See I have an Indian "uncle", this man took care of his family well, after all the years in naija he returned to India as age came and after all his investments in those kids. Today those kids are all doing well, two are doctors and the others PhDs in their fields over in Canada and the US. Sad to say they have abandoned this man, they only send money to their mother, always flying her to stay with them while baba de India. I did not know it was that bad, not until my bro called from the states that I should help him transfer $1k to that man, I asked why, that was how he started giving me gist of how uncle was suffering. Infact the man said it is as if they are just waiting for him to die, he is on wheel chair living like a poor destitute, just at home, when they wish they give him food all because money no de pocket! Meanwhile this was a big man when he was in naija taking care of his family. It is practically my bro sending money to the man for sustainance from the US. Only God know what the woman said to those kids to poison their mind. Ofcourse when the kids and wife returned to India from naija as they kids grew older, the man was sending money from naija to the wife to take care of the home, pay school fees etc. Those kids now don't feel any attachment to their father just to their mum.

I don't think men need to change their ways, yes I can say they need to start telling their stories. But men are in no competition. Children usually understand the father's love later in life or when he has passed. It's part of life. That's why we say A MAN'S LEGACY

His legacy outlives him, that's why there's no need to argue and men prove their points with results. I just read the life story of a famous star who said while he was trying to handle fame, his mother wanted a bit of it. Instead of her not talking to paparazzi, she was proud to show the media how she took care of him, where he used to have fun as a child and all those things. She wanted the limelight and then he missed his dad who was dead. He felt it, dad was not alive but he knew damn well that dad would have protected him with his actions. A man does not need you to clap for him or recognize him for the good he has done. Have you heard the phrase, "a man does not steal in his own home?" o deep. Men, real men often understand that it is a lonely world for men, so they start preparing in advance and some of them, in their lifetime may never see the child appreciate their efforts but one of the things I see people find out is when they are in their 30s to 40/50s, they know the truth. Why? Because as adults they now understand how the system worked and who was playing a role without making noise about it or asking for recognition.

Men work differently

This is why I laugh at today's women who want to turn men to women by teaching men how to raise children, especially the boy child. Then this same women will come out tomorrow on why our boys are so feminine. Fear women.

The reason why son's remember mother's more is because mother's overlooked the many times the son's messed up .

Father's give you only two chances to mess up while mother's give 50.

Sons remember the patience and the encouragement. Father's only encourage in the beginning then when you mess up it's " when I was your age ...... "

Men work their lives off to keep the family running behind the scene, yet they are never recognized in the success stories.

So he was not the one running around to buy the boots? Or was he living with another woman?
Was he present in the life of his son?
