njokuuche77:Excuse me, but first we are struggling to practise democracy and go and democratically vote, which is the root of our problem! 25% of registered Nigerians bothered to get off their asses and vote in the last election, and less than 10 million elected Tinubu.

He maybe right tho. Democracy is shit in Africa. The electoral process is a legalize fraud. A good example is Nigeria. and how do you even do election in a poverty shrinking state where vote can easily be bought. we all know any hungry man is not better than a mad man. MANY PEOPLE ARE NOT VOTING IN THEIR RIGHT FRAME OF MIND. THEY ARE EITHER VOTING BECAUSE OF 10K PROMISED TO THEM IF THEY VOTE A PARTICULAR PERSON, OR VOTING INFLUENCED BY TRIBAL OR RELIGIOUS SENTIMENT. MOST NIGERIANS ARE DISENFRACHIZED. PROPLE CAN EASILY BE BOUGHT, INEC AND JUDICIARY HAS ALREADY BEEN BOUGHT. THIS ELECTION IS JUST A WASTE OF TIME. HENCE I SUPPORT THAT DEMOCRACY IS NOT FOR AFRICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Akalia:Authority is not always the truth, but the truth is authority on its own. No serious nation borrows a system of leadership from their oppressors. The serious awareness that must be debated amongst African youth is weather we want this democracy or not. |

Americans introduced "Democracy" in Lybia and look at the state of Lybia today. Under Khadafi there was no democracy and the country was working. Free electricity, Free hospital treatments, Free education. There was no beggars, no homeless people. No external debt because Lybia was not borrowing. So called democracy destroyed everything in Lybia. In reality it's DEMON-CRACY |

Afriifa:He's right. Democracy can only thrive where there's law and order. We're not practising Democracy in Nigeria. Imagine the military in power. Both the terrorists and their spinsors would have long forgotten they once lived today, including their founder who's a key politician in the apc government |

Democracy is not working in Nigeria. Democracy has been taken over by thieves who wear Agbada and suit. We don't have Democracy in this country, is a shame. |

The Nurturing of Absolutism When this guy seized power through a putsch some 3 years ago, people were in a frenzy and the excitement reached the heavens. Then, I saw no romanticism about it-- still don't. My argument was that he should hand over power within the 3-year time frame, then in company of his other military liberators, watch from the sidelines if Burkina Faso degenerated into chaos again. Then, they could swing in again and clean up the purported mess. No one human can be absolutely trusted with power. I warned my colleagues he would turn to a tyrant. And it's happening now. Global instances of military interventions teach us that military banditry is no solution for political mismanagement. Nigeria's history alone offers ample experience that military rule and intervention are disastrous. He will, like, other unconscionably-driven despots in Africa, plunge Burkina Faso deeper into a socio-economic and political quagmire, where counter coups might be a merry-go-round. |

I love the fact he's against democracy and honestly if you deepthink it, democracy and her institutions has always been a decoy by the Western powers to dissuade Africans away from good governance masked in "freedom". What freedom do we have when all our institutions are corrupt but we claim we are a democratic country. From recent metrics and index, Burkina Faso is making good progress as a country, if it happens Traore becomes corrupt himself then they should boot him out, Good leadership is all that matters and all that matters is what the people can feel |

In Burkina Fasso there are Stiff Penalties for Corruption: Revised legislation has increased penalties for corruption, including life imprisonment for embezzlement or corruption. President Ibrahim Traoré has issued warnings to all government officials, declaring a zero-tolerance policy against corruption, including the misuse of public funds, promising immediate life imprisonment for offenders. |
