Mark has not stepped down
PRESS STATEMENT

ADC DISMISSES RESIGNATION RUMOURS, SAYS DAVID MARK REMAINS FOCUSED, DETERMINED FOR VICTORY

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed as false and malicious reports alleging that its National Chairman, Senator David Mark, has stepped down from his position.

In a statement issued by the Media Office of the National Chairman, the party described the claim as “an insidious fabrication” orchestrated by individuals it termed as “puerile, weak, and inconsiderate propagandists.”

The statement categorically affirmed that Senator Mark remains the substantive National Chairman of the party, stressing that there is no contemplation whatsoever of his resignation either by him or the leadership of the ADC.

“The assertion that Senator David Mark has stepped down exists only in the warped imagination of those bent on spreading falsehood and creating confusion within our party,” the statement read.

The party further emphasized that the ADC leadership remains united, focused, and resolute in its mission to strengthen democratic values and provide credible leadership to Nigerians.

It also warned against attempts to destabilize the party, noting that such efforts are driven by fear of the ADC’s growing influence and the emerging political permutations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“The ADC, its leadership, and the majority of Nigerians are unbending in their collective determination to resist any plot aimed at undermining Nigeria’s multi-party democracy or imposing a one-party system,” the statement added.
Reaffirming its commitment to democratic ideals, the party called on Nigerians to disregard the rumours and remain confident in the leadership and stability of the ADC.

Signed

Media Office
ADC National Chairman,
Senator David Mark

That is also an option to consider, if the Gombe man would be placated and tag along.

They failed at the most critical part of the assignment.

...and are still doubling down, instead of admitting responsibilities for their mistakes.

They can move to any other willing SPV before the gate is closed by the umpire.

I don't understand how a tinubu with 32 governors is scared of just one man, Peter Obi.

The recent happenings in our political space shows that Tinubu is a paper weight politician compared to Peter Obi.

Peter Obi is a heavy asset that will defeat and disgrace tinubu anyday anytime in a free and fair election.

Fact!

it is not that tinubu is scared, he is a seasoned politician, and experienced politicians DONT LEAVE ANYTHING TO CHANCE ,LUCK OR ASSUMPTIONS .
it is evidently clear that tinubu is not popular and with a free and fear election he will lose , but he is the president now and he has all the power to prevent that loss , do you think it will be wise of him to just fold his arms and allow the opposition to beat him like they did to gej? of course not . he has unlimited financial war chest , he has the police ,army ,judiciary , inec but he knows that just one small mistake can spark a fire and render all useless . so dont blame him rather blame the opposition who are behaving as if tinubu is the kind of man who will give his opponent a level playing feild

this Atiku amazes me cos he seems not to have learnt any lesson from the 2023 elections. You, a presidential candidate and a northerner made Ayu another northerner the party chairman which made lots of people to not rate you and here you are again making that same mistake that partly resulted in your 2023 loss in 2026. issorite o.

All this Tinubu and APC media sponsored attack watchdog on Nairaland, let me restate it again. Your end won’t be good.

Am sure you have families and loved ones suffering, but because of rice & oil you have decided to sell your conscience.

Any Nigerian that vote APC next year will be an ENEMY OF THE STATE.

That sounds like what fear fear people say when they want to run away from a fight. Imagine Messi and Argentina trying to instigate a crises in Nigeria Super Eagle camp before a world cup match rather than focusing on their own training and strategy.

APC is acting like Morrocco which is trying to win AFCON through the backdoor, I guess Morrocco is also a master strategist in African football.

REWIND: In July 2025, Nafiu Bala attended ADC unveiling of David Mark-led leadership

On July 2, 2025, Nafiu Bala, the factional acting national chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), was among the stakeholders who attended the party’s unveiling of the interim leadership of David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola.

The event took place at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

The event was attended by many politicians, including former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar; Peter Obi, 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP); Nasir el-Rufai, former governor of Kaduna; Rotimi Amaechi, former minister of transportation; Emeka Ihedioha, ex-deputy speaker of the house of representatives; and Ireti Kingibe, senator representing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Others were John Oyegun, the former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC); Abubakar Malami, the former attorney-general of the federation (AGF) and minister of justice; Dino Melaye, former Kogi west senator; Solomon Dalung, former minister of sports; Aisha Yesufu, an activist; Dele Momodu, publisher of Ovation magazine; Enyinnaya Abaribe, senator representing Abia south, and Gabriel Suswan, former governor of Benue.

At the event, Bala was introduced by Lauretta Onochie, former presidential aide, who co-moderated the programme, as the ADC deputy national chairman, intergovernmental affairs.

Gombe stood up from his seat to acknowledge the introduction.

The introduction can be viewed in the 14:03 section of a video posted by Symfoni on July 2, 2026

He won and manipulates you guys in SW.

Nigeria is not SW.

He should have contested for president with ACN and show his politcal strength then not waiting behind Buhari/Northerners to enter through back yard.

Buhari showed his strength via CPC before APC was formed, Peter Obi showed his strength with small LP. While tinubu rigged his way in via incumbent party.

Tinubu is a great politician only in SW not Nigeria. Know that and know peace

Nigeria is not SW but when they gave you quit notice in the SW, you were begging.

He helped Buhari to win and then, contested on his own and won.

Tinubu won't have contested simply to show strength, he contested to win and he won. That's the difference between the SW and the SE.

Let me make you cry more.
With the way you guys reason, you have no political future beyond carrying banners in Eagles square.
