My own be say if it's certain that with that amount, we will have stable electricity in Nigeria, let the presidency and his friends borrow us the money, when we start seeing changes, we will pay them back. The mortgaging of tax payers funds should stop from henceforth. |

These huge debts accumulated over the past years. I don't know why the previous government was not paying down these debts despite printing N20 trillion naira. The privatisation of the power assets has not delivered any noticeable positive results. |

So dem dey listen to criticism...why wasting such money to offset debt when we can overhaul the entire power sector with such money. |

If this is been owed for over a decade as the news said, then this APGC guy should go and rest. Has he forgotten there is something called BAD DEBT? They are part of the problem we have in the Nigerian power sector. We just keep funding them with payments without them generating anything for us. |

DeLaRue:How can they pay, when 98% of income was used to service debt. We were borrowing to pay salaries. Unfortunately, the monies given to the governors are not being properly utilised, otherwise things should have tremendously improved! |

There is a correlation between electricity improvement and development of any nation, which nation develops without standard electricity?, This man doesn't seem to be patriotic and passionate enough about this country s development. |

"If I don’t give you constant electricity in 2027 don't vote for me" Seems like Tinubu has been reminded of what he told Nigerians. Well, i hope it's not yet another propaganda from this APC govt sha ![]() |

Etila:And leave the debt of those who came to invest in your power sector... just imagine, you came with your hard-earned money to invest and generate power for the country, and the government refused to pay your service delivery charge for over 7 years. How will you feel... just think before you answer the question... |

So if Peter Obi didn't criticize this useless president, He no for pay his debt to the electricity company? Tinubu shivers when Peter Obi criticizes him and I pray that Mr Peter Obi continues to criticize him . |
| Re: Power Crisis: Gencos Kick As Tinubu Approves ₦3.3 Trillion To Clear Legacy Debt by heysquare(m): 5:42am On Apr 06 |
Etila:Which criticism? You people don't follow issues at the initial stages . Tinubu held a meeting with the Discos last year and they said govt is owing 6.6 trillion naira debt and the president promised to settled the debt after verification to confirm the said amount and after the verification, it was discover that the amount is 3.3 trillion and not 6.6. |

PrinceOfLagos:That’s why people like you are enemies of Peter obi. And why he will never amount to anything politically because of toxicity you are attracting to him. This topic has nothing to do with him. If someone attack him nowyou will say, he is not the only politician in Nigeria ,why are they attacking him but you non patriotic element keeps bringing him up where he’s not mentioned or related ?? What is wrong with you people?? You see why you people will always beg for freedom in your country?? |

There are too many illiterates pretending to be journalists in the Nigerian space. This has nothing to do with Mr Obi's criticism. |

PrinceOfLagos:You people and your low level thinking. So Obi criticized the president, and just like that 3 trillion naira appeared from nowhere? Tinubu surely has money tree in his backyard at the Aso Villa. Funny lad.

If the Gencos are truly being underpaid by the government, this is unfair. They are being forced to carry the weight of electricity subsidies and thr indebttedness of large amount of monies owed by gocernment instittuitions. It is time the subsidies ends, all government bodies perhaps move to prepaid if it possible. I dont know the global best practixes in that regards. |

PrinceOfLagos:So, it was Peter Obi's criticism that led to the constitution of Fola Adeola- led committee on power reform? You always overrate obi.You think Tinubu has time for making noise like a particular 'groundnut' politician? Work has been going-on in that sector. Power stations were being built, N2.8trillion was approved to offset debt to GENCOs/ gas suppliers, many other initiatives were already being worked on and $3.3trillion payment plan has just been approved. |

adenigga:What effort did Obi make to add value to the electricity supply to Anambra state while he was Gov? So, if the GenCos bring a debt of #6t , Tinubu shouldn't verify but he should just pay? Mad man at upper Iweka is indeed his advisor. |
