It is by far better than Enugu.

500 gallons of water go for N20k. Multiply by 4 in a month, that's N80k. By extrapolation, that's N960k in a year on water alone. Why? Because the governor believes that clean and accessible water is the least of his worries. Yet they prance around like Enugu is Abuja even though the red muddy soil will have residents looking like they went tomb-raiding at night.

But then, considering where it was before Peter Mba, one can understand the accolades being that he moved the town from 16th Century to 17th Century but not anywhere near 20th Century. 21st Century is a stretch. EEDC? The worst of all.

You struggled with it because you have a jaundiced mindset... Sorry!

There is a general anti Nigeria campaign going on all over South Africa as we speak.
You need no one to tell you that folks at the borders over there have been told to tighten up checks against the green passport, and that such instructions follow a pattern now established to assuage the fiery emotions of South Africas xenophobic bunch!

The question here is: who are those restless ethnic champions from Nigeria who in their quest to stamp an ethnic identity to crimes committed by some Nigerians in South Africa, ended up tarnishing the image of a country of over 200 million peoplehuh

I should provide you with the answers?
It is the APC Internet hirelings ably marshalled and commanded by one irritating Bayo Onanuga! Their stock in trade is to whip up all sorts of tribal narratives against the easternerd just to divide the country so that their drug lord of a president will win a second term...
It is backfiring...,big time too!

That's what is going on...
Now, pay me for breaking it down for you...
You don't see our own jaundiced mindset. Must be because you feel so put upon.

Anti-Nigeria sentiments have always run wild in South Africa. It's not even too difficult to understand why (I could break that down for you). And it's not because Nigerians who hate Igbos talked bad about Igbos online.

It’s in Sokoto prison while the president is looking for cows with the help of kidnappers and terrorists who he negotiates the release of hostages with.

Hmm. You mean I should stay off the States for now given things I sometimes say about the clown at the White House.

It's sad that democratic countries do these things though. I mean, these are things you'd expect from Musolini, Traore or Kagame, not serious democracies like South Africa.

The most criminal country in Africa is south africa. Its funny that despite insurgency in Nigeria these South African people still rate so high in criminality, and some Nigerians still want to go

Classic social-media headline outrage again.....targeted to a well known emotional populace

The headline says “South Africa refused entry to Nigerians” like it’s some diplomatic scandal. But the body of the story itself admits immigration flagged inconsistencies in their travel details, problems linked to how their applications were handled by agents, and even a watchlist issue related to prior online conduct. You insulted the government of the country online and you think the same government will grant you access to their country.....💁‍♀️🙆‍♀️🤔 mental illness ? Who thinks like this if not the most entitled people in Africa?

That’s not discrimination. That’s standard border control procedure anywhere in the world.

Even your own government didn’t accuse South Africa of wrongdoing. Instead, they advised their citizens to make sure their applications are correct and to comply with entry requirements before travelling.

South Africa is run by institutions, laws and immigration regulations......not emotion, pressure campaigns or propaganda headlines.

Follow the rules and enjoy the country. Try shortcuts, inconsistencies or social-media drama at a port of entry and the system will stop you. Simple as that. Perpetual victims. 🗑
Are your citizens not more insulting to Nigeria online?

Nobody can execute you for the offence of verbally threatening a Joe Biden. Go read that story well.

Democracy is a standard. Democratic countries are expected to follow the law and due process always. (Is there a law in SA that makes it an offence to badmouth the Pretoria government? Or are they just copying Trumpian America?) That's why no democratic country would openly torture people or admit to using torture. They would also deny stifling freedom of expression. They're expected to comply with international law. It's more than what people on the street want.

On Ghanaians, I've seen this argument a few times. Ghanaians were not attacked on the streets by Nigerians. What happened was that the government deported West Africans who were residing here without papers. The government followed the law, but what Shagari did went completely against the spirit of African brotherhood and solidarity. He should not have done it.
No matter what international law says a government rises or falls on the will of the people. You only need to have sufficient numbers of people disliking a thing for th government to follow through.

The LGBTQ issue is a classic example of the interplay between people's of different cultures viz government. The West is largely tolerant and uses it's government to project that power. Africa is largely intolerant and no matter the carrots dangles before them, governments in Africa are resistant knowing the problems they face if they remotely consider it despite the fact that just a handful are democratic indeed.

What the SA government is doing has linkages to the sentiment of their people and will certainly not back any international law if this problem worsens. After all the fallout of breaking international laws it whatever will be borne by all citizens not just government or it's operatives.

And yes, Shagari did not act on his own violation. There was deep seated animosity towards Ghanians in the late 70's and early 80's. They were accused of undermining the economy by lowering wages, working harder for less (if you look at it that way) or being more productive and enterprising in business, in the domestic front and in certain.semi smiled and unskilled professions like teaching, craftsmanship, etc. Nigerians wanted them out.

Always justifying evil. Are you denying that South Africans don't want Nigerians in their country, did South Africa not attack Nigerians recently? See wickedness. These men reported that they were even begging to be let in not like they are criminals but your heartless people continued their heartless none African behavior against fellow Africans who helped during apartheid instead if letting them in your country. Would you do that to white South Africans?
Must Nigerians go to SA? Wettin even dey carry una go that country? Is it that those going to SA aren't loved at home?

You don't compare your country to another. How many South Africans come to Nigeria for greener pasture? We're the ones always wanting to japa. You too can insult any country you want, provided you would never need to go near their borders. But who knows tomorrow!

You might insult Japan today, thinking you would never need them, only for an ample opportunity to come up in 10 years time that requires that you travel there and you get the visa and everything, only for your old insulting tweets to lift up it's face and wait for you at the immigration point of entry.

The bottom line is take your digital footprint seriously. We're in the technology age, so we should evolve so we're not caught up in the middle.

When there was no social media in those days, your insults doesn't go beyond your environment but now, the whole world is seeing what you put out online.

Let's all be guided.
Okay U that is talking now, shouldn't Nigerian govt punish U severelyhuh But U will cry human rights bla bla. But when it comes to your country U are always too eager to support the other side. What do people see in this SA that they run to??
A relatively virgin ground and a relatively naive people. Two types of people jump countries.

Those who flee to save themselves.
Those who ride into conquest.

No country wants the latter.
When you pretentiously come to my house because you want a pound of flour to make a meal, fine, I have sympathy.
But when you say, you will use that flour to start a business to sell me bread....

Stay in your country and develop it,if e sure for you.

Why are you keen in developing their country when they don't want it

Or may be their government is doing something yours is not doing

Or could it be that they own their country while your government own your country

And you think that Nigeria would let them in if they applied for visa.?

I have a relative who became a US citizen about 2 years ago, after being a green card holder for years. In private she has told me she doesn't like trump. IN PUBLIC....nothing politics on her social media.for years when she was just a green card holder. Zero, zilch, nothing. Especially during Trump's first term.NO one knows tomorrow.
Still doesn't make it right tho!

Why do people engage in protest when they know they can be arrested or even shot? So when they get arrested do U blame them or the govthuh Pls what's wrong is wrong will always be wrong. Not to blame the victim. Cos guess what, even trump and those in power will not always be there. And we shouldn't encourage evil because we are afraid of what the evil can do. Otherwise even U that is talking, U wouldn't know the one U will do that the same people in power will consider punishable.

I think South Africa should stop issuing visas to the Nigerian public so that both sides can have peace. It is clear the citizen of both countries dislike each other profoundly so just keep the cats out of the dogs reach.

And once again. Nigeria should develop it's own country. Look at the things you admire outside and fight for them back home.

If only the rule of law at our borders were this enforced for instance this country will have a whole heap of problems off her shoulders.
Finish & klaar. I rock with this take.

I'm not here to argue about what is right or wrong...as we all know, countries reseve the right to determine who comes into their country. Whether we consider it right or wrong won't change anything.

Also, the internet has changed the rules of life. Anything offensive one said when you were young online can cause one to lose their job

Plus if a foriegner said that all Nigerians were animals and did nothing but animal things all day, and then applied for an expat visa years later, una go gree let am in?
