Tolu Schools Complex In Ajegunle, The Biggest In Africa by blamingthedevil(op): 6:34pm On Apr 06
Focusing on the first E in our THEMES+ agenda, which is Education and Technology, the Tolu Schools Complex in Ajegunle sits on nearly 12 hectares and serves about 20,000 students across 36 schools, both primary and secondary.

Before the upgrade, many of the buildings were in poor condition. Today, the entire complex has been rebuilt and expanded, marking its most significant transformation since it was established over 40 years ago.

New classroom blocks have been added to reduce overcrowding. The facilities now include a football pitch, sports courts, a health centre, a fire station, and essential services like solar power and improved water systems.

There is also a clear focus on inclusion. Dedicated buildings for students with disabilities have been introduced, along with lifts to make movement easier within the complex. A vocational centre is now in place, offering training in practical skills such as tailoring, plumbing, and masonry.

With an ICT hub and a central laboratory, students are better positioned to engage with science and technology in a more hands-on way.

Overall, the project creates a more supportive and functional learning environment for a densely populated community.

To some people it doesn't matter if you don't build any school for 8 years, but they will have something bad to say about this undecided

Let's stop the bragging of "it is the biggest in Nigeria/Africa...." rehotoric.

The best schools in the world are not by size.

The school is big and beautiful. Fine.

The adminsitrators should ensure standard is maintained.

I wish all states could just give more to her citizens, especially the Northern states who seem to understand that being in power is a right to embezzle.

Big for nothing. Tinubu cannot produce any meaningful project.

"Can anything good come out of Nazareth?" 😂

I seriously doubt that claim, though. We have some large schools in this country that can compete anywhere. If we’re talking elite standards, Topfaith in Akwa Ibom easily comes to mind, and of course, you can't overlook Grange School in GRA Ikeja etc. Those schools are really large.

Guy wise up. The schools were built by Lateef Jakande. The present administration can only renovate it. Whats the big deal renovating.

30 schools in one complex. THAT'S IMPRESSIVE.

This is what we call VISIONARY LEADERSHIP.

Peter Obi take note. 📝

Because I heard you didn't build even half school as governor of Anambra state.

Only Breweries everywhere. Plus million pounds house in London.

Be cautioned, you this man. angry

I attended unity secondary school;one of schools in tolu complex. Unity secondary schools happens to be the oldest among about 16 secondary schools in the complex. Tolu complex was built by Lateef Jakande in the 80's. These government schools were built for those that cant afford expensive schools.

You're not a Lagosian so you wouldn't understand how things work in Lagos.

In Lagos, no Gov comes with his plans. Just recently, Lagos Roadmap for 30 years, was launched and no individual Gov can alter it.
Re: Tolu Schools Complex In Ajegunle, The Biggest In Africa by Misterone: 12:36pm On Apr 07
This is a man that did not build even a single community school here talking about the benefits of education. A man that increased tertiary tuition over 500% and was bold enough to say that "education is not for the poor". Hypocrisy of the highest order!

Should Lagosians direct their own questions to the performance records of progressive UPN governor Jakande who built the school some 46 years ago, before Sanwo Olu renovated it.

The school was abandoned by his predecessors.

Splashme:
The first civilian governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, on Tuesday, said that the cancellation of the Lagos metroline project in 1985 was a major mistake and disservice to many Nigerians.

Jakande spoke in Lagos during the launch of a book which chronicled his life in politics and journalism.

The book, entitled, ‘Jakande: Leadership in Action’ is written by Dr. Bola Olaosebikan, who told the audience at the event that the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), was not responsible for the cancellation of the project.

Jakande said, “Reflecting on the metroline project, I think it is a major disservice to many Nigerians. Imagine how many people would have benefitted. It would have made life easier and changed the face of transport in Lagos. Whoever cancelled it or gave the advice towards its cancellation didn’t do right.”

The former governor asked Nigerians not to vote for unserious leaders in the coming polls, saying the elections presented Nigerians with a good opportunity that should not be squandered.

Expressing the hope that Nigeria would soon overcome its developmental challenges, Jakande said hope would be actualised faster if credible people emerged as leaders in the next dispensation.

He said, “This book comes at a very auspicious time in Nigeria’s history as we need leaders who can act. We need leaders who would not compromise the standards of good governance. God has blessed this nation the most in Africa, although we have not reached where we should be; with the right leaders, Nigeria would overcome its challenges.”

WHO SAYS 4 YEARS IN OFFICE IS NOT ENOUGH FOR MEANINGFUL ACHIEVEMENTS?

IT'S A FACT THAT 90% OF GOVERNORS IN NIGERIA SINCE 1999 WITH REVENUES AT THEIR DISPOSAL CANNOT BOAST OF A QUARTER OF THESE ACHIEVEMENTS EVEN WITHIN THEIR EIGHT YEARS IN OFFICE.
