The Tolu School Complex in Ajegunle, Lagos, was originally established in 1981 by the administration of Alhaji Lateef Kayode Jakande.

God bless Alhaji Lateef Kayode Akande.

Thanks to Guv Sanwo-Olu for renovation...

"Can anything good come out of Nazareth?" 😂

I seriously doubt that claim, though. We have some large schools in this country that can compete anywhere. If we’re talking elite standards, Topfaith in Akwa Ibom easily comes to mind, and of course, you can't overlook Grange School in GRA Ikeja etc. Those schools are really large.
Which kind T.I.S.S in Essien Udim LGA has one of the largest compounds?
Elite standard for that matter? Bros, I think you are just over exaggerating this thing. I attended that Topfaith for my senior high school years, and my siblings did for theirs.

If you say Grange School in Lagos, White plains, Atlantic Hall, BIS and the rest, ehen, I will say you're absolutely correct. Funtaj as well. Corona High school Lagos and a host of them. Those were and are still " elitist " schools in Nigeria.
I happened to have also attended Funtaj for over four years, so I've seen the difference.

Which kind Topfaith International. Lol

Not only biggest in Africa, but also sitting close to one of the biggest economic hub in Nigeria, TIN CAN ISLAND PORT, IBRU JETTY, MRS OIL AND GAS, folks do you know that ajegunle also house mobil oil company?
Wow. So, Ajegunle LGA is home to all these infrastructures?
I hope they sha have very meaningful electricity supply?

Regular and almost completely constant power supply, is what I'm talking about. If not, that's useless.

This is a man that did not build even a single community school here talking about the benefits of education. A man that increased tertiary tuition over 500% and was bold enough to say that "education is not for the poor". Hypocrisy of the highest order!
The irony of Obi's foolishness is that he's challenging someone that introduced NELFUND to help students from poor background to go to higher institutions with the support of government. When he had the opportunity, what did he do?

I’ve visited Topfaith once back then. The school wasn’t that bad. I couldn’t reach the end though. Topfaith alumni 🙌😂 Your school try. I heard they were building the tertiary institution?

Guy wise up. The schools were built by Lateef Jakande. The present administration can only renovate it. Whats the big deal renovating.
Did you say only renovate? That in itself is something. If the school is not renovated, can you arrest the government?

One thing is to built a facilities another thing is to keep it in good condition through sound maintenance culture which I believe Nigeria Government lack. Come back after a decade and see the condition of these complex, you'll be sad at it poor condition level of those complex would be due to poor maintenance culture.

All together not up to half size of mayflower in ikenne ogun state in land size.
blamingthedevil:
Focusing on the first E in our THEMES+ agenda, which is Education and Technology, the Tolu Schools Complex in Ajegunle sits on nearly 12 hectares and serves about 20,000 students across 36 schools, both primary and secondary.

Before the upgrade, many of the buildings were in poor condition. Today, the entire complex has been rebuilt and expanded, marking its most significant transformation since it was established over 40 years ago.

New classroom blocks have been added to reduce overcrowding. The facilities now include a football pitch, sports courts, a health centre, a fire station, and essential services like solar power and improved water systems.

There is also a clear focus on inclusion. Dedicated buildings for students with disabilities have been introduced, along with lifts to make movement easier within the complex. A vocational centre is now in place, offering training in practical skills such as tailoring, plumbing, and masonry.

With an ICT hub and a central laboratory, students are better positioned to engage with science and technology in a more hands-on way.

Overall, the project creates a more supportive and functional learning environment for a densely populated community.

I stay in AJEGUNLE, we do have light on regular basis let me put it so, because a lot of businesses are in ajegunle, that makes them a big customer, and they are all band A, I can also confidently tell you that it is one of the most secured area in Lagos, though we have some pockets of crimes but you can't have any big crimes there, because a lot of military formations are there, and they are , tamando barrack army barrack, signal barrack, (military police) Navy barracks, close to press, Ashanti barracks ,army, ajegunle shares boundary with apapa, were they house DEPARTMENT OF MILITARY INTELLIGENCE, with a lot of companies, Ajegunle also house dangote salt, and a lot of police formations. that is why I said one of the most secured place, if not number one.
Will you like to enjoy night life in ajegunle, lots of event centers, hotels , clubs, there are clubs in ajegunle that you would walk in and you won't believe what you will see, standard clubs.
and to crown it all , it is one of those area you will like to stay because things are affordable, especially food items. Good roads that you can enjoy night drives with solar street lights on all major roads and streets, police check points and patrols of security officers both local security. they also have good learning structure like the TOLU SCHOOL COMPLEX, and other good private schools around.
in sports they have the maracana stadium and a semi stadium in navy base , and it very large, they still have some mini playing ground, but those two are the major ones, that have produced players like Orion ighalo, and other great players in the Super Eagle, s

so wouldn't you like to take a trip to ajegunle? 😊😊

You don't mean it!!?
The same Ajegunle on Lagos that we in Abuja and the North, as a whole, growing up used to hear about? They made it sound like it was and is still a very local, poverty-stricken, rugged, crime-infested slum. Far away from the likes of them Ikoyi, apapa even, lekki, VI and the others that rank in as the better LGAs in Lagos.
They made us believe it was home to danfo drivers, pick pockets, street cultists and urchins.

Ah, this is what stereotyping does! They told us only the half of it. Half of the story of this wonderful and interesting Ajegunle, that you have just really marketed to all and sundry reading this comment of yours.

I'm so impressed. And they have that many military and police installations? Absolutely shocking to know.
Ajegunle, see you whenever I touch down Lagos in future. Truly, Eko oni baje oooh.

AJ to the world.
One love, man!

Who told you it was abandoned. Tinubu government built the biggest school which is called millennium school in that complex added to the existing ones when he was governor.
anonimi:
Should Lagosians direct their own questions to the performance records of progressive UPN governor Jakande who built the school some 46 years ago, before Sanwo Olu renovated it.

The school was abandoned by his predecessors.

This is commendable. But more can still be done. The children in those schools complex have a right to pipe-borne water. They have a right to healthcare facilities with doctors working.
They should have access to funds for research and development. Catch them young.
The two governors I love so much are Sanwo and Otti. There may be others working, it my attention is on this two.
Rivers state appears to be ungoverned. The state seem to be on autopilot. I don't feel for the governor because he must have amassed wealth for his generation, years later we will see his own houses abroad. I feel for the poor masses whose future have been mortgaged.
