Lebanon's health minister says "hundreds dead and wounded" after Israel's attacks

Hundreds of people have been killed and wounded in Israel’s strikes on Lebanon today, Lebanon’s health minister said, according to the country’s National News Agency.

Health minister Rakan Nassereddine said there are “hundreds dead and wounded” following Wednesday’s attacks, NNA reported.

The attacks included some of the most extensive Israeli strikes in the heart of Beirut in decades. Airstrikes targeted at least three areas in municipal Beirut, including a strike that hit close to the central seaside promenade, according to CNN’s analysis of video.

Municipal Beirut, which is predominantly Sunni and Christian, is infrequently targeted by Israel.

Another video showed a half-destroyed building in west Beirut with thick plumes of black smoke billowing into the sky. Ambulances have been sounding out sirens nearly nonstop since the attacks began, according to CNN reporters on the ground.

The Israeli army launched what it said were 100 air strikes at multiple locations across Lebanon in a span of 10 minutes.

I am at the scene of one of them in central Beirut. The devastation is extraordinary. These strikes came without warning. They came at a moment of confusion across Lebanon as to whether the regional ceasefire applied here.

We had statements from Pakistan’s PM saying it did apply. [/b]Then, at 6am, we had Netanyahu saying that, no, the ceasefire did not apply to Lebanon and the Israeli army has made that abundantly clear this afternoon.

[b]We are having mass casualty events declared at multiple hospitals. Authorities here are calling for doctors, nurses, and anyone with medical experience to go to the locations.

None of those killed are even Hezbollah fighters. The Pakistan PM who brokered the ceasefire said the ceasefire included Lebanon yet you are here filled with hate and disregard for the innocent dead, twisting a lie. Smh.

Iran and Hezbollah will not watch and allow Netanyahu do to Lebanon same genocide he committed with the Palestine civilians in Gaza. Hezbollah has started firing rockets and Iran will respond soon. Trump has bigger issues to deal with in US as gasoline price, inflation remain high and investigation into constututional breach in going to war with US taxpayers funds on behalf of another country.

Someone told me that the reason why Christianity is still in practice today is because there's Islam.

He further said that if it happens tomorrow that no Islam ☪️️ again Christianity will die naturally.

He said the reason is not because people do believe in it. It is because they are doing it to rival Islam so as to be recognized as "we also have our own religion"

Take for example in Gaza where many Christians and churches are being destroyed the Christians will feel nonchalant 😒, if ask they will say they are Arabs or Hamas so they don't care.

Iran has halted oil tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz after Israel attacked Lebanon, semi-official news agency Fars reported.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said earlier that Lebanon was included in the ceasefire between Israel, the United States and Iran, but the Israeli military said attacks on Hezbollah in Lebanon would continue.

Israel today has carried out what it called the largest strikes on the country since the start of the war.

Fars said two oil tankers were allowed to cross the strait since the ceasefire came into effect.
