I keep asking what was Jonathan's offense to Tinubu and his supporters?

I saw this comment by the user and I was amused. It was not just Tinubu and his supporters that Jonathan 'offended'. If you remember clearly, Jonathan also offended the northerners. So his offense was against the northerners and the south-westerners. Interestingly, their agitation against Jonathan's 'offense' was not against bad government but against 'exclusion' from national cake.

If you understand Nigeria in its entirety, you would come to the inference that Nigeria is a country that no one loves. I mean that the constituting nations or what we call tribes do not love the country the whiteman created for them, but they love the largesse they're getting from it. Whether the northerners or the southwesterners, their interest in Nigeria is the free oil and gas in the southeast and southsouth part of the country and so anything stopping anyone from their regions (north and west) from being in the position of looting these wealth for the north or southwest as the case may be is an offense. That was why they hated Jonathan and would hate anyone from these regions bearing the wealth of the country.

Look at the ongoing killings in the north and southwest. Are they complaining? No. Why? Because the persons at the center were from the north (Buhari) and the west (Tinubu). Bandits, terrorists and what have you can wipe out whole communities and you wouldn't hear 'pim'. You know why? They're 'looting'.

Doesn't it remind you of Blando in The Good, The Bad and The Ugly? When a man loves the gains of stolen wealth more than his own life. Perhaps it is not just an African Thing.

Goodluck Jonathan's 'offense' is being a native from the region producing the wealth and controlling the same wealth. They couldn't wait to get their hands on the till. That's the same reason 2027 is far more important than the ongoing bloodbath in the country. In fact, the terrorist will continue cutting wide swats in tears and blood and long as someone from these regions whose ONLY interest in Nigeria is to grab, snatch, and run away with... is there.

If any group think they deserve 30 and are being given ten then they would have no choice than to withdraw their support from the President.
Oil is also in the SW. The SW is second highest in oil production. There is no need to be saying oil is only from the SE and SS.
Then the biggest assault on the Jonathan Presidency is the statement made by one MEND leader that Jonathan masterminded a bomb blast that killed Nigerians in Abuja. That is a first in Nigerian history. The person who said so did so under oath in South Africa. I think Henry Okah or so.
There is nothing wrong if any group withdraw support from anyone at any time if they no longer feel served by that association

GEJ was too weak to be Nigeria president. I supported his government but not his reelection

He mismanaged out forex reserves by subsiding dollar to Naira without paying attention to where the bought dollars was going.

During GEJ's tenure, a trip to Abuja airport, you will Dubai is just close to Nigeria as some beautiful girls will be advertising houses for sale and rent in far away Dubai.

You failed in your efforts to change the narratives, his only crime was that he is a Christian from the minority south south and had the audacity to make a south southerner and at one time a south Easterner the chief of army staff and made sure that certain juicy appointments usually kept for politicians were giving to technocrats.
Then coupled with the fact that the North felt aggrieved by the fact that Yaradua did not complete the northern period for presidency before he passed away and Jonathan coming back for a second term would mean diminishing their influence.
Along came the formation of the worst party ever, the APC which was a congregation of ethnic supremacists, religious fanatics, ethnic jingoist, tribal warlords and now Nigerians are paying the big price.
PDP gave us nationalistic leaders like Obasanjo,Yaradua and Goodluck Jonathan but the reverse is now the case
Meanwhile just to let you know that the south east has the largest reserve of gas than anyother in sub Saharan Africa...like they say 'the future is gas'.

Envy and jealousy

They gathered their professors and pastors to protest against an innocent man

They used all the propaganda media and Arsenal at their disposal to dislodge a Man who meant well for Nigeria.

Now they took over and look very confused

Fashola became power minister and electricity became rocket science. Very wicked gathering of witches who have laid siege on the country called Nigeria

The guy you quoted is not Igbo, he is from the north, a core one at that, you guys seem to see every spoken truth as an Igbo man speaking, you people keep confirming that Igbos are one of the most truthful set of people in Nigeria when it comes to issues about Nigeria, reason for the hate against them from some of you.
