Trippledots:issue is doing this at scale + except you're a DIY person experienced or willing to sweat it out, let OP go the traditional route. |

IRAPADA:Probably the solar panels don go give am more current or voltage than it's max. That happens mostly when the Sun is at full duty and the gap between solar panel's Spec and inverter's limit ain't much. Another could be say the load exCess and e don tire to pretend. Except you give more information, exact cause would be difficult to figure out just from the picx. And please quit using it till it's FIXed. For the inverter to continue working means either those capacitors are yet to completely go bad or their function ain't crucial enough to force entire system shutDown. before fixing them, you need figure out what caused it else e go still repeat. And fxing is simple. Take it to an inverter rePairer or an electrician that knows his onion well enough. Don't forget, should you go about changing those pregnant capacitors without first figuring out and fixing the root cause, you just wasting ya time. |

IRAPADA:It depends on a lot of things I think yours is an aging problem resulting in high esr (there's no explosion of the capacitor but rather a kind of burnt around the label) Now since you said you put it back on and it still works as if nothing happened, it likely proofs that it's not a really serious problem, just checking if there are any burnt trace, decolorations on the PCB, might give you more hint of there are other problems |

Obnoxious2001:If he continues using it, that thing go spoil for real |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by justasitis: 10:27pm On Apr 07 |
IRAPADA:The swollen or bulging capacitors are likely caused by excessive heat, sudden overvoltage, or high current. It’s advisable you replace the affected capacitors with the exact same type matching the voltage and uf because even though still working, those capacitors are already weak and will fail at any time. iYou should then check to ensure that your PV input is within the inverter specifications and also install voltage/current limiter to safeguard the inverter against future power surge. |

please folks, plan heading to Arena oshodi this weekend to get a used 12v inverter 1kv, to 1,5k etc for a small use case, I initially wanted to go with a sachet inverter but I am thinking a 12v used might be better since there is a good chance of getting a pure sine wave inverter, please who can recommend a used brand to go for and which one to avoid, and please who knows a reliable seller, also like how much make Arena go finish me, those guys can be very vulturous is person no sabi and could even sell a bad one |

codemaster2much:Rather than sepnd so much buying a 12v 1kva or 1.5kva inverter, why not just get a (USEd) sachet inverter. To make it last much longer, if you needed 1kVa, go for like 3kVa. Additionally, you could ensure it's pureSineWave and not modifiedSineWave. To me, any inverter less than 2kVa ain't worth the money especially if buying brand new. |

Hello guys, please help me make a choice between Cola 3600 @ 800k, and Haisic 1.5kW 4kWh @ 830k. This system is for my folks' in the villa. A few lights, 42" led tv, 2-door old fridge, and two fans. The fridge is the only priority load. Diversity will apply. Budget is tight. Already, 4 nos 340W panels are down. I'm wondering also, are there 2 grades of Cola, as some insist on 850k and above for the same Cola 3600? |

Good morning everyone, please I'll love to know if there are any effects if i charge my lithium battery with 120V from the grid. The light in my area can be very low.. As low as 120V.i have a 10kwh lithium battery. Is it safe to allow grid voltage of 120V to charge my battery. If not, what are the potential effects. I'll appreciate any useful response |

Topper33:While your feelings are valid, 550k for 3.2kwh is not a bad deal at all. You get more capacity which you can confirm from the bms app. Can you confirm if the Itel bank holds up actual stated capacity? Plastic and Steel casing surely won't have the same weight, reason for the significantly heavier weight of the Itel pack. Truth is, buying from local builders might come with some trade-offs, but what is sure is actual capacity per $ is guaranteed which is very important. It all depends on what you actually want, more back up or features and aesthetics? as long as it isn't a case of what I ordered vs what I got, I don't think you have any issues. Always remember to do more research before making your final decisions. Don't take anybody's word for it. |

Topper33:I might be wrong but I see this as itel promotion, lol. Well, speaking about googling thing, that's how you build character and knowledge when it comes to learning. In addition, I'd really want to see the battery grade and actual capacity because I know for sure their "30,000mah" is lesser than advertised so I believe the same thing with their shinny battery box too. Conclusively, to each their own, but I am not interested in aesthetics but rather value, peace and honesty, I don't care if it is "wooden" if it works and delivers when I want it to, then that's all that matters. |

| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 8:34am On Apr 09 |
Icent99:we don't know the capacity of your charger. the 120v you mention isn't what's gonna charge your battery, at least we hove it isn't. Even whenyour phone's charger accepts a 240v voltage, it ends up using about 5v to charge your phone. So if you meant that the NEPA light is about 120v and you intends using your inverter to recharge your batteries (that is, the inverter is connected to NEPA), then i would say so long your inverter is capable of recharging the batteries, and the NEPA light is enough to power the inverter enough, then there shoul;dn't be any issue. Still, we might need more information to really get you. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Litewriter: 9:11am On Apr 09 |
From what I can see here, it's seems to be a transformer type inverter, and the caps are the DC bus caps, as you've confirmed, it can still be working, but you'll face challenge when you want to power high power load, and this can in turn damage your transistors/igbt. Burnt cap and be due to aging or long exposure to over/high current, it's best you take it to a repair centre, where they'll fix whatever needs to be fixed. IRAPADA: |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Litewriter: 9:22am On Apr 09 |
I also face challenge here, grid gets as low as 110v at times, ND I charge my battery with it effectively, so far it's within your inverter input voltage range, most inverters can go as low as 70VAC, the only thing you might experience is, the charging current might not be up to what's set. You don't need to fear anything. Icent99: |

| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Icent99(m): 9:30am On Apr 09 |
Litewriter:thank you very much, because after a few research i learnt the inverter actually sets the charging parameters to the battery and not the direct grid parameters |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Icent99(m): 9:40am On Apr 09 |
Obnoxious2001:talking about pcb, what's the maximum temperature this can safely get to.. The other day while charging my battery with gen, it got as high as 60°C and it got me worried |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Litewriter: 9:47am On Apr 09 |
Inverter doesn't connect ya battery directly to grid, so far the input VAC is within the inverter parameter, the inverter internal circuitry will do its thing, converting the input ac to dc, to charge ya battery. Charge current might be lower compared to when you have AC input btw 200-240VAC Icent99: |

MeshachMARTINS:I do but currently occupied. Try getting in touch with @dollarNaira or check out this thread https://www.nairaland.com/7902446/diy-lithium-ion-like-minds Mind you, ensure you giving your project to someone who wouldn't use your work to learn work. Wonder why not just give @valto or @mrreed a call except you trying to avoid cost of wayBill |
