Not a charitable thing to say really.

Your victory in some situation is to act not like those who wronged you.

Going by what the owner of this school use to say about death and the power they have over it, any sane mind will say the exact same thing you said but we all know it is all lies.

Just condoles with the family amd move on..

Every parent's worst nightmare.

May we not receive a call that our child is dead. I gave you my child hale and hearty and you are now calling me to come and pick his corpse??

Chukwu aju ife ojo!!!
How do you know the boy is hale and hearty, possibly the boy has some heart related sickness before, death doesn't just strike cheaply like that, there must be an underlying cause

This is a university of the very religious kind, and look at how they are brazenly lying about everything. Goes to show religion in this country na show that no one actually believes or tries to live by.
That Professor Timothy A. Anake should be arrested immediately. I'm glad that someone else spotted the lie in this press statement.

You see, there are 3 major factors that show we are alive - consciousness, breath and pulse. No medical doctor will apply CPR on a patient who is already dead!

AED and CPR are only applied on patients who are unconscious, not breathing but have a pulse.

I want a medical doctor to counter my comment if I am wrong.

How do you know they are lying. Do you have a counter evidence to their statements. Kindly drop your evidence for the world to see. Thanks

CPR is actually for people without a pulse. As in dead. You try and revive them.

When someone is unconscious, not breathing normally or has no pulse, that's when you know they need CPR.
You might want to rephrase this your post. The ignorance is annoying.

If you say that CPR is for dead people and you are a medical student or doctor, then it's obvious why we have many trained quacks in Nigeria.

My man. I am not in Nigeria. This is what is practiced in the United States. Its what I have seen with my own eyes. And here is a screenshot from Google.

If you see someone at an accident scene or injured or distress and is non responsive, not breathing, no pulse; you attempt to give CPR.

I work in medicine, and yes, we do CPR on 'dead people'. It's kind of why the whole process of CPR was invented.

First, a patient is certifed dead not when they have stopped breathing, there has to be no detectable cardiac and respiratory activity.

Hence we do CPR.

What happened is that the chap was brought in 'not breathing''and 'no pulse detected' , but when the doc listened to his heart , there was a beat detected (also we feel the neck pulses as well)...and CPR commenced to try to reverse the death process so to speak

Even when there is no pulse or breathing detected, CPR still commences.

Defibrillator comes in to see if the beat or pulse detected is shockable. If it is, then a shock is administered via the defib machine. If it isn't, then CPR continues...until the beat becomes shockable.

Once the heart rate is established, it does not mean the patient may wake up and move around, sometimes additional things need to be done. Even to the point that the patient may have to be placed on a ventilator in ICU , then care continues. Sometimes it ends well, soemtimes it doesn't.

I work in medicine and have taken part CPR for supposedly dead patients over the years. Sometimes we get lucky, sometimes we don't. Looks like they were not lucky this time

Winners Chapel don't do mumu things like that. When someone is sick, his/she is advised to go the hospital for proper care. Church members will visit u in church and pray for u for speedy recovery. They don't also do all those mumu vision thingy in winners. If u carry that kind mumu talk come, u will be walked out ASAP..

This will have been funny if not for the grave situation. CPR - Cardio (relating to the heart). Pulmonary (relating to the lungs). Resuscitation (relating to the stoppage of one or both functions)

If you stop breathing your heart fails in time. If your heart is in failure your breathing becomes progressively difficult.

CPR is an emergency procedure to get both working again in short order to keep other vital organs from oxygen starvation and irreversible damage.

Death is presumed when the heart can no longer be restarted to do the above.

RIP to the lad and comfort to the family. They need to do an autopsy to clear the air on this situation and to indicate if there is anything to be concerned about in the family as a whole.
