Never consider an option of abortion, take a chance with prayers. I know a closed person who is AS and the wife also AS. They have have three kids now together and non of the kids is SS. Through they have stopped giving birth after the third child arrived.
I am not in any way encouraging AS to AS marriage, but just to encourage you not to abort the pregnancy.

My wife and I are both As and we have three healthy boy's to God be the glory. I pray yours turn out positive as mine.

I think there's a way to check the genotype of the foetus (or baby) in the womb.

The friend can carry out the test and if the test shows that the baby has the SS gene, he should be pragmatic and do the needful.

If a sickle cell baby is born, it would cause suffering to the parents and the offspring. That is not a good life to live.

If he has money and the pregnancy is still within 4-8 weeks he should go for pre natal diagnosis. No b all hospital dey do am o. D diagnosis go tell am the genotype of the baby.
