REVEALED: Anambra Businessman, Blord, Detained for Refusing to Join City Boy Movement Tony Okafor,Awka Human rights activist and publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, has disclosed that Awka businessman, Linus Williams—commonly known as Blord—is currently being persecuted for his refusal to align with the City Boy Movement, a political support group of President Bola Tinubu. Blord was detained at Kuje Correctional Centre last week for a period of 26 days following a legal dispute with social media activist Martin Vincent Otse, better known as Very Dark Man. The matter, however, was adjourned, and the businessman’s detention became a subject of public concern. Sowore, who strongly condemned Blord’s detention, called on Otse’s legal representative, Barrister Marshal Abubakar, to discontinue proceedings in the case. The activist also vowed to facilitate Blord’s immediate release, denouncing his detention as a form of political oppression. During a visit to the correctional facility on Wednesday, Sowore expressed his surprise at Blord’s resilience. Despite the circumstances, the businessman was reportedly in high spirits and remained unbroken. "We were expecting to find Blord in despair, given the unjust nature of his detention," Sowore said. "However, we were surprised to see him in good spirits. This visit was intended to offer support and bring attention to the case, but it is clear that his detention is politically motivated." Sowore suggested that Blord’s refusal to join the City Boy Movement, an initiative supported by some Igbo businessmen in favour of President Tinubu, was central to his detention. According to Sowore, Blord had previously posted a video publicly declaring his opposition to the movement. In the video, he stated that "village people" were pressuring him to join the group and that he would never associate with the so-called "City Boys." This defiance, Sowore claims, led to Blord being targeted by political forces within the movement. "The situation is more than just a legal matter; there is a political undertone to his detention. He stood up against the pressure to join the City Boy Movement, and for that, he has been punished," Sowore added, adding, "But we are confident that this will be resolved soon." . |

Isn't it obvious? Attempts to sell Tinubu's candidacy in the South has been meeting a brickwall despite the level of intimidation, coercion and inducement. He remains even more unpopular in the South than he is in the North and the North are fast abandoning him after his betrayal and woeful performance. He has no realistic pathway to victory. |

There are some people on nairaland that attribute any catastrophe they are facing with Tinubu. If their fathers cannot make love to their mothers, they will blame Tinubu for it. So Tinubu was the VDM who took him to the court and boasted openly that he has sent him to prison? |

immortalcrown:It is already being used. APC under Tinubu has taken Nigeria back to the dark days. There will soon be that last straw that will break the camel's back.
