Having learnt for over two years and passed upto B2 level and currently on the C1 level, I share my experiences to help other language Enthusiast that love to learn from scratch or improve the knowledge of German................

The most basic level of German just like many other European languages is the A1........ There are several language schools that offers German language trainings in Nigeria mostly in Lagos, Abuja, Enugu, Port Harcourt etc but its always possible to learn online if one has the will power........

The most. Prominent German language Centre in Nigeria till date remains the Goethe institute located at anifowose Street in Victoria Island in Lagos.......

There are different exam levels and certification in German Bru the most prominent ranges from A1 TO C2......... For those interested in studying in German universities, minimum of C1 is usually the minimum requirement except where the language of instruction is in English and that's mostly for the masters programme and some first degree programs

The German one is a bit different in terms of how to learn it and the way the language is structured but it's doable...... I did it without attending a German school in quote but learnt everything I know today online..........

I’ll appreciate that as a lot of the apps are on premium subscription.

YES.... There are different apps that require subscription that can be very expensive to use..... But try duolingo German first,, just as I said I will send a list of common apps or websites one can use for free.... Some apps may require adverts though but you can still possibly benefit

Free platforms to use as a beginner to start learning basic German

1. DW Learn German : comes with comprehensive basic videos

2. Duolingo: comes with great contents and pronunciations. May come with ads though grin

3. Memrise

4. dict.cc:offline dictionary to help with basic words

One great method to improve German or any foreign language learning is called the shadowing method....... I used this Alot to improve my speaking. @deutschnaija001 on TikTok comes live with different words a beginner can always shadow from and learn..... Check it out

Podcasts are a super fun filled approach to learn basic words and complex words in German. It helps to train pronunciations through the shadowing otherwise called imitation method. I used this to a large extent and I can confirm it's usefulness and assistance in improving my German............... I will drop some few good platforms from time to time on this platform......
