This is the problem with the mentality of an average Nigerian. And it’s why businesses fail.

You open bakery, the eat bread anyhow and say, how much is the bread.

You open business they take time out unapproved and say how many minutes did I even go for.

You open poultry , they steal the eggs and say how many do I even take sef.

They even tell you workshop is where a worker will chop.

We are our problem.

Read in between the lines. The company's main concern is littering the company's premises with chewed cane sugar.

For those who are into business, they don't know that up to half of expenses can come from staff stealing company assets. For the record, if such a company calculates the cost, it may be in billions and getting enough sugar cane may be difficult at some time as fruits🍍🍎🍓🍇 have season.

No sotry. Let them try it again and be sacked and prosecuted. If you work in a multinational firm, you would understand better. For a boss tolerating anyhow behavior like late coming etc, he or she may be sanctioned. Next year, the boss is not promoted or unable to get something like a loan that is his entitlement and on inquiry, you are rightly informed that you lost a promotion etc because of one small sanction the previous year and when you think about it, you are told, it's due to your subordinate error so you have to wait one year or more before getting this same privilege. Then you would understand why some bosses become strict or wicked.

People are really hungry in Nigeria, sugarcane is now a big thing under APC.

People that make and sell for example fufu, hardly eat it. It's discipline so that you don't eat all the profit and the capital. A IBO man selling garri, rice and beans hardly drink the garri or cook the rice or beans while selling. Some may give to others but know that if you take from the store, that business would not grow and growth is important in business.

There are some food manufacturing companies you enter just for a visit or work with them and those head of department especially production and quality control department don't take nonsense.

some people actually abuse the privilege of chewing canes especially labourers. some cut the canes indiscriminately, like firewood and take them out of the company to sell them. most of the workers will cut like 10-15 sticks and chew in one sitting
