"The Boys S5 (2019)" Ep 1 & 2. "F**cking Diabolical". Finale seasons are becoming tricky these past years, as show runners often seem to struggle on how to end a good show but this first 2 episodes were such a good start and i can't wait to see how it all ends..i would like to touch on 2 points from these episodes. First, A superhero show or media is only as good as it's villain. A chrismatic villain sets a proper tone for all that is to follow and Boy! It's "Homelander" a proper proper villain, you see him, and you see "Evil", he reeks of it, hey, i am just a watcher, yet i am genuinely terrified of him 😩. It also bears testament to how well Antony Starr has played the character so far, genuinely don't think he tops this performance ever, which might be a good or a bad thing.. Homelander is genuinely on the path to being one of the best villains in CBM adaptations ever...just fantastic to watch. The second point, is that, it is now so obvious what real life scenario the show is trying to mimic. We are literally living in a "black mirror coded alternate timeline" and these shows are mirroring real life 100%. The Orange man was casually saying he was gonna "end a civilization" yesterday, literally teasing world war 3 like it's el classico and crying "fake news" in the evening. I can't wait to see how they put "Homelander" down... 1 Like 1 Share

DieRich5:Siren's Kiss 8.5/10 The K-series gat the best Soundtrack so far this year, the title really fit the main character and they follow up till the end, I meant the original story cus many K-drama don’t, till the last 2 episodes The storyline was really interesting but you can easily predict the villain from few episodes but dat didn’t kill the fun because the acting was too good for all the characters 1 Like |

I don't remember whether it was this thread or the movie thread that I said something awhile back about the movie/series industry having a 'scheme of work' sort-of , of the kinds of movies/series to produce. Cos why would 'The Capture' , 'Paradise' all of a sudden turn to AI god worshipping series. Make dem nor turn FROM also to AI backstory, cos these writers have no boundaries. |
