They were not there to rescue any downed pilot(s) nor were they on a mission to snatch the enriched uranium.

They were there to detonate the enriched uranium and make a dirty nuclear bomb mess over Iran.

I hear your theory... but check this. If that was the case...if they did blow it up... wouldn't they be affected too? ... unless they rigged them with time bombs.
