Most pipes in most building especially those built years are already broken.
Snake preferable habitat are usually underground or forest, which is why it is advisable to fumigate ur house once in a while

They come in through the soakaway pits and then wruggle up the pipes. Mainly for buildings located near the outskirts of the city.

Patently false.
They enter through compromised central sewage system especially those that empty into nearby bushes or ditches.
This system is especially rampant in Abuna unlike Lagos that practice decentralized sewage system, one house per septic tank.

Yeah, just looking around evidence of poor quality construction are there. Cracks on the compound flooring, low sitting building...you can imagine how poorly the sewage system will be built which ordinarily should be sealed and vents gauzed over.

First, their natural habitat is being depleted day in day out; and Soakaway pits just happen to provide the necessary darkness and seclusion they needed.
Besides, Faeces are readily available and a good source of protein!
In conclusion, the infernal heat in Soakaway and drainage system during summer often force them out to seek fresh air. Just pray your bum bum won't be blocking their exit when they chose to take a walk!
