Hello everyone, I want to share my experience as a Nigerian investor and also seek advice. On September 20, 2024, I invested ₦1,000,000 with a company called Kyvatron Limited under an arrangement where they promised a monthly return on investment (ROI) of 23%. Since then, I have not received my capital or the agreed returns. After several follow-ups, the company issued an official signed statement confirming that my payment would be made on or before October 31, 2025. Unfortunately, that date has passed and the payment has still not been made. As of today, the total amount owed to me (principal + accumulated returns) is ₦5,140,000. I have full proof of payment, agreement, communication history, and the official statement from the company. I also came across another complaint online from someone alleging a similar experience, which raises concerns about how investment-related issues like this are handled in Nigeria. This situation makes me ask: - What protections do Nigerian investors really have? - What role should regulators play in monitoring companies collecting funds from the public? - What is the best way to recover funds in cases like this? At this point, I am considering escalating the matter to the appropriate authorities. I would appreciate advice and also like to know if anyone else has had a similar experience. Thank you. |

You should've asked yourself what the person does to pay you 23% monthly. People say that most fraud victims are greedy people and they are absolutely correct. At this point, you should be begging for out-of-court settlement with a strong focus on getting back your principal. |

I have attached some of the key documents for reference. I can provide additional details if needed. Still hoping for a resolution.

KyvatronVictim:...Is the investment company registered with the Nigeria Stock Exchange.. if not, you are on your own oo ... Before putting your money on any investment companies, first check whether they are registered with the NSE. That's is the proper way to go.. |

KyvatronVictim:Coming on Nairaland to expose your personal details and confidential business documents will not give you the results you're looking for. But since you have decided to do so, we would sincerely appreciate a full picture. You said Kyvatron is owing you 5.1 million Naira, but what you're showing us here in your screenshots is a 1M transaction receipt for your investment and a statement from the company saying that they will give you back your 1M and some profit and also the date when you will be paid, but you didn't show us any screenshot from your bank account statement for that particular day to confirm whether the company actually paid you or not. I just checked out Kyvatron online and can see that they have an office in Lekki, so if the company is really owing you like you claim, you can easily walk into their office, talk to their staff and resolve any issue you may have. But my guess is that the company actually paid you back your 1M and some profit, but the greed in you is expecting 5.1 million Naira from a 1M investment, and because you didn't get such a ridiculous amount, which wasn't even in the company statement you uploaded here on Nairaland, you're coming here to condemn the company. |

sammyscholar:I understand your point. However, the returns were part of the agreement, and the company also issued a written payment commitment which has not been honoured. My focus right now is recovering my funds. |

Absquare20:I understand your perspective. To clarify, the ₦5.1M figure is not random or exaggerated. It represents the principal investment plus the agreed monthly returns based on the arrangement presented by the company over time. I have not claimed that this amount was paid at once. My issue is that after repeated follow-ups, I have not received full settlement as agreed, including the principal balance still outstanding. Regarding bank statements, I have them available and can provide further clarification if needed. I only shared selected screenshots initially to summarize the situation. Also, I have made efforts to resolve this directly with the company over time before bringing it here for advice and public awareness. My intention here is not to attack anyone, but to understand if others have had similar experiences and to seek guidance on resolution. |

SmartPolician:I understand your point. At this stage, my focus is not on returns or arguments around expectations, but on recovering the funds based on the agreement and the written commitment issued by the company. I also agree that situations like this require caution, which is why I have taken time to document everything properly and attempt resolution directly before bringing it here for advice. Right now, I am simply trying to resolve the matter and also understand if others have had similar experiences. |

KyvatronVictim:I'm sorry my brother but many Nigerians are inherent bad people. One must tripple check before hiring staff how much more investing money...... Research if the company is licensed by SEC, which I'm almost certain it isn't.......your best bet then is to pool resources with other victims and prosecute them, they obtained public money under false pretense(dubiously). This you must begin immediately, understand that the entire scheme was a sham from the onset. |

KyvatronVictim:For clarity, I would like to explain the timeline surrounding event of things The attached cheque was issued to me earlier in March and I was informed to wait until May 2025 before presenting it for payment. However, just before I was scheduled to go to the bank to cash it, I was contacted and asked not to proceed at that time. Since then, the payment has not been completed. I am sharing this strictly as part of my personal experience and documentation of events.

Report to efcc or move on. I will advise you to focus on your principal. You are not being realistic asking for both your principal and the unrealistic interest, do not approach efcc with this nonsense. Even at yearly, 23% is not easy feat for investments. |

I am sharing my experience here for clarity and to see if others have had similar situations. |

KyvatronVictim:For clarity, here is a simple timeline of my experience so far: - September 2024: Initial investment made - Subsequent period: Returns were expected based on the agreed terms - March 2025: I was issued a cheque as part of the payment process - May 2025: I was informed to present the cheque, but was later asked not to proceed just before cashing it - October 31, 2025: Payment date stated in official communication, which was not fulfilled As of now, the matter is still unresolved. I am sharing this to keep things clear and properly documented. |
