60 Megawatt gas turbines and we are rejoicing.
What happened to having a standard of building not less than 1000 Megawatts of power infrastructure project? We can do this Nigerian politicians, let's raise the standards pls.
How many standard 1000MW of power infrastructure your state governor don do?

Fire brigade approach as election nears.
He now remembers the promise he made during his presidential election campaign: if I don't give you steady electricity, don't vote for me for second term.
It's a state project, the governor only invited Tinubu to inaugurate it

Which gas turbine again.
Has the power stations cannot pay for, commissioned by a government that cannot pay it's electricity bills.

Why not invest in a proper energy mix, diversify our energy source and quit these so called low hanging fruits. Who are the people advising this government? And what is it about this country that we cannot learn from our mistakes and sufferings.

GAS IS TOO EXPENSIVE FOR OUR PER CAPITA of a thousand dollars.

Lol, because of 60MW
Geometric power of over 800MW is not even enough for the people of Aba and it's environ, then how will 60MW make the state out of national grid......
Not only that but distribution is also an issue so this 60mv may not even go where it's needed. It's all theatrical. What can I say, People who are starving will think breadcrumbs are a buffet.

So you wrote this one like this? Because today you're part of a group denying and trying to cover up genocide against thousands of christians and millions displaced, many of them women and children. Even promoting such a clueless president that has caused hardship and insecurity on millions, to be in office for another 4 years. And the reason no de pass tribal loyalty, envy, jealousy and hate for another tribe.

twilliamx:
The other day on Nairaland I read of how an 8 year old girl was kidnapped from her school in ogun state, her body was later recovered with her feet and hand chopped off.
This broke my heart so much because she is about the age of my daughter. The next day I expected it to be on many news medium, I expected people in her ogun to rise and protest but nothing of such happened! She was just another number in the statistic. We are now so used to horrible news that our natural human emotion/reaction of rage and pain and sorrow has eroded away with just the stroke of a finger on our phones " on to the next".
The sight of that little girl laying in the bush really brought great sorrow to me, I could imagine her last moment when she finally realizes that her captor viewed her just like a goat and the value of her life whether she wanted to become a doctor, lawyer or an engineer meant nothing to him/her. She was just a means to a very cheap end. I hope the beast had decency to at least snuff her life out before dismembering her.
This is a wake up call to all parents/decent human being, we need to bring back our outrage and we as a people need to fight this evil that lurks amongst us, we need to come together to become a formidable force and be ready to bear arms to defend our kids against this demons in human skin that see our lives and that of our precious kids as a means to an end. We need to take the battle to them, We need to be "all for one and one for all"
That could have been anybody's kid in any part of the country, our children should not be afraid to live their lives,
The little angel just wanted to go school and become somebody, all the nurture and love spent on her by her parents snuffed out like a candle in the wind. Left alone in the forest. She would have been screaming for mommy and daddy but no came to her rescue from the beast. We need to start identifying the beast in our communities and snuff them out. We have allowed this fester for too long. We have become too lilly livered. Our ancestors will truly be ashamed of us.
I cry as I write this on how cheap the precious life of a child has become, I cry because my people are failing to see that if we do not band together and stop this now. We won't even be able to walk on our streets anymore. Evil can never overcome good, we need to reignite the warrior spirit of old , which abound in our ancestors! They will die defending their homes, community ,family and lifestyle, they will not sit back and fold their hands while their homes burnt.
We need to call for the right to bear Arms. The situation right now demands that we are always armed. No one is safe and no where is safe.
May God protect us from the evil that watches us while we are not watching..

richiemcgold:
National grid currently generates between 4000 to 5000 megawatts. If all the 36 states and the FCT can build something like this 60MW IPP each, that's 2,220 additional megawatts added to the national grid.
But unfortunately, most governors are not ready to invest in power generation despite all the heavy allocations.

.. Useless governors
Very unfortunate of most governors

Abia state population is x2 of Bayelsa. And Abia state has more industries and small businesses than Bayelsa. At least, they can manage the 60MW

So you're estimating that a home will use 1200 watts? Is that not too small?
Only 1 pressing iron or air condition has taken that energy.

Anyways, the turbine was only commissioned, Yenagoa is still in darkness as I write this according to info from my friend over there.
Commissioning something that is not even been test-run
