This is sure to have "mixed effect" on the economy as the prices of agricultural produce and consumer products would ease but it also has the deleterious effect of dissuading farmers from agricultural activities as the prices of imported palm oil, rice , and sugar will be far cheaper than the locally grown due to mechanisation and lower cost of production and energy abroad.

I hope this is not a short term measure to score political goals after which we will be educated on how food and cars are more expensive in Toronto
Since rice imports have been banned, why haven't prices come down ,its almost 10 years and we are still not self stomachs.....we cant grow enough to feed us all,so allow imports lets focus on crops we have comparative advantage like yam, cassava, maize, oil palm etc.

Inconsistent policy changers.
There is nothing wrong with govt tweaking its fiscal policies from time to time to help the masses.....opposition doesn't mean being brainless.

Last kick of dying Emilokan 😅🤣😂,
Medicine after death🤷🏿

How can someone buy a vehicle abroad for 4M, customs will collect 4M making the landing price 8M angry.

Aso Villa Bandit, you were suppose to ease many things after removing subsidy particularly transport related parts and accessories 🤷🏿(vehicle parts, tyres, duty on vehicles, trucks, cheap drivers license, cheap vehicles registration) but you didn't.
Hand must touch you 📌💯
I support tinubu and I believe in his ability to turn things around but on this which you have said,I totally concurrent,I kept wondering why govt didn't reduce tarrifg on these things to ameliorate the suffering also renewable energy most especially solar equipments, govt should as a matter of urgency reduce the tariff on them so as to make them more available and make it viable option for the epileptic grid electricity.......but there is nothing wrong if govt in their wisdom considers now as the most convenient to introduce these......bros dey calmdown, noh be fight.

Ideally, all those items suppose to be more cheaper, low import duty and less any tax on it than now, because subsidy was removed in other to ease those things. We hope vehicles dealer will use it.

Let's wait for their attack dogs to start barking.
They know this may may help ease things more and allow voters to consider voting Tulumbu again. So, they are always looking for bad news that will make people not to want to vote for him.

Those people are very difficult to deal with. They think the same way.

Do you know how long it takes to sell a car? Cars are no snacks. This policy won't have any real effect on car prices in the next one year. By the way, this an election-driven policy.

Nigerians would smell hell should this demons ever return.
It's obvious their wicked policies has been behind the poverty n hardship that pervaded Nigerians. Now it's election period they want to ease it so they can tighten harder after they win.
I hope Nigerians would be wise this time.

What difference will it make , when it’s not their preferred candidate that is in power?

Stop reasoning from your poo hole.

They said it takes effect from July 1, giving the auto dealers like 3months grace. I pity those who already have vehicles in stock, those who just go to clear good and benefit from the reduction will crash the price.

Medicine after death. 100 steps backwards 1 step forward. Person that would have reduced cost of governance and leakages after removing fuel subsidy but instead decided to embark on expensive projects and keep reimbursing the state governors to rally for the support and defection for second term at the expense of the people

This is a commendable move by the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, showing clear commitment to economic growth and industrial development.

Reducing tariffs on key sectors like agriculture, manufacturing, and healthcare will ease business operations and boost local productivity. The inclusion of incentives such as zero-duty on critical machinery reflects forward-thinking leadership.

This kind of policy direction is exactly what Nigeria needs to stay competitive and support investors. Kudos to the government for taking bold and practical steps toward national progress.

You should explain how lowering tariffs on CPO does all the good things you have listed.

You can start by explaining why lowering tariffs on CPO is a good idea.

Good observation.

The party of the man you support and believe in - has been in power for those ten years. You should ask the man and his party the hard questions - why has the rice policy failed? Nigerians want to know.

Is the reduced vehicle tax also going to reduce price of spare parts? Cos no one seems to be talking of high costs of spare parts and things to keep a car properly maintained.

Nigerians should not die so that farmers only will live. Meanwhile whynwill imported material be cheaper than locally made one if that is the case then the local manufacturers should quit. Law of comparative advantage.
