I did not read this writeup, there's no need. The heading is sufficient. Can anyone locate that Nigerian who has no preferences, no political leanings whatsoever and no ideas of theirs as to how to head a body like INEC. Let the writer provide us with their names

They should go and present their case in a court of law why Amupitan cannot be INEC chairman.

The tenure of the Chairmo that was there when Tinubu took office just elapsed and it is within his right and power to appoint a new Chairmo. INEC Chairman, Prof. Amupitan, is really feeling the heat. He was caught red-handed supporting Bola Tinubu and the APC. To show how confused and panicked he is, he changed his username and then rushed to open a brand new X account claiming it wasn't his.

His actions only prove the allegations are true. Why change your username and open a new account? Does he think Nigerians are fools like Tinubu's supporters? I don't know who is advising him, but he looks lost and confused.

This is why a president should not have the right to appoint an INEC chairman..the constitution has to be amended concerning this matter

Every human being is a political animal and it's almost impossible to find one without political sympathy.

The man made a big mistake by futile attempts to hide his identity and posts on twitter. He should simply have owned to them and heaven would not fall. He could simply claim it was in the past, and as a private citizen, he was allowed to support any political party. Knee-jack reaction has a way of exposing someone even further to what he was trying to hide.

inec as it standard & requirement which mandates the chairman & staffs to be apolitical thats not optional

No, PBAT should have appointed someone very neutral, because at the end, everyone is watching our elections and we got to end the story that elections in NIgeria are conducted by not too neutral people.

If the INEC chair is giving out vibes that he is not neutral, he should be sacked, and replaced with someone neutral.

(And replacing him with someone neutral does not mean tinubu might lose, just that elections may be fair. and seen to be fair)

I don't know why you guys don't want things to be properly done in this country, for eff's sake.

Na, you better stop looking for a hero (and yes, I agree with you, obi and atiku and tinubu na the same, ditto GEJ ditto even Obasanjo, buhari, and all our leaders. Even honest ones like Muritala who has issues).

The problem is, we can vote for someone who is outsider, like the people of old Kaduna state did in 1979 , when they voted an outsider as their governor...and the guy will face a national assembly, governors, and other elected and unelected corrupt officials interested in the status quo...like that governor of old Kaduna who was eventually impeached two years into his administration.

The best we can do for now (and I don't like this solution, but Nigerians no hear) is to vote out the ruling party, vote in the oppositon, and if oppositon no do well, vote in the ruling party again, and so on and so forth. Maybe they will be incentivised to start taking good decisions by fire by force.

But if we vote for someone from the smaller parties, or the unknowns, they are going to face the same corrupt establishment, unless you want to vote for unknowns at all levels. Remember that in democraxy, and even under millitary rule, leaders do not rule alone, they rule with others.

And even if we do the above, the same corruption go continue. Kenya voted unknowns once, and they replaced the old corrupt people with new ones. Nigerians suppose stop supporitng stealing because 'na awa son'.
