What is a Ghanaian looking for japaing. Ghana is good now?
Lol.

I'm sure some people will abuse me, but it is a myth to say that there are African countries better than Nigeria. We are all the same south of the Sahara

Even North Africa, people Japa. Egypt is losing doctors to the UK and other countries because pay is poor. Meanwhile across the red sea is Saudi. Same language, same culture, salary better. UK too, at least Egyptian docs can speak and work in English.

Again most subsaharan countries are in the same boat as Nigeria. I once watched a documentary about a woman in Cameroon going back to her village. The road to her village was terrible. Meanwhile in Nigeria , a similar type of road would have long since been fixed by the corrupt leaders we have. Ivory Coast too same story.

That's why I laugh when I hear people say that this African country has light or has better minimum wage. Lol. They also have large rural.and urban areas that look like Nigeria. My mother saw me watching a report from Ivory coast some years ago, she had to ask me which part of Nigeria is this grin

It is because most African leaders run resource dependent economics. If they ran industrial economy, dem go be like Japan and China that used to be bush countries self.

I can't sleep 7 hours at a stretch even if I wanted to. My body has adapted to short bursts of sleep.

Funny thing is when the money comes, one is too tired to even spend it.
Well, it's true what they say:
Young, you have time and strength but no money to flex.
Middle age, you have strength and money but no time.
Old age, you have money and time but no strength.

May be we should check the mortality rate in Nigeria versus the one in the UK then you would realise that more people are losing their life in Nigeria compared to the UK.

I am going to go to sleep like millions of Nigerians abroad will, and I am going to wake up in the morning, because one "Richmond Mensah, a father of one, went to sleep in preparation for a night shift and never woke up. He was just 33" does not in any way mean that I, at twice Richmond's age, and who has lived abroad longer that Richmond lived, would not wake up tomorrow because Richmond did not wake up, and any one who wants to scare me that I would not wake up would need to come kill me in my sleep themselves.

But quote me to see if I died please, because op has a point that you must:

Sleep! You need the rest wherever you may be.
Are you saying that you are up to 60 years of age?

So the campaign is about UK today? Sleep is luxury anywhere you live. Its only you that can control yourself and live your life the way you want it. Ask people in Lagos how many hours they Sleep in a day. Wherever you live if you don't prioritize yourself, it won't make any difference. I sleep better since I escaped Nigeria 🫣, Living in Nigeria sometimes look like living in hell. Talking from experience, sorry I know this is not what many want to hear.
You escaped Nigeria after shouting on your mandate and after voting in emilokan disaster ba ? I hope you get deported soon back to your Nigeria 😐

Waking up to pee every 2 hours is a dangerous occurrence & frequency!
That's a sigh of a weak or failing kidney.
Kindly go for check up ASAP.
Short bursts of sleep at night isn't a good thing either, your sleep cycles need to be longer.
Thank you 🙏
It could also be a sign of drinking too much water before bedtime or a slightly cold environment.

So relax. Its normal in cold countries.

Everything the OP said is true. Japa is not for the weak, it's not for the lazy and it's not for those who don't have a savings culture.

I will always advise anybody with plans to japa to ensure he has a soft landing. It's easier that way, if you go all by yourself without any soft landing, I swear it is extremely difficult to save up but it's possible.

Secondly I will advise anybody on a mission to japa to have a skill that is in demand in your country of preference. With a soft landing and an I demand skill, you make it quite easily.

Grace differs, life is a risk, no pain no gain.

Life abroad isn’t a palatable experience. Too much hard work, limited sleep, limited time for one’s self, loneliness, pressures etc.

In Nigeria little or limited opportunities to earning a living. But all of the above can be overcomed.

Contentment can indeed be a wealth of nature. Many still dey make am las, las for Nigeria …

Several Nigerians that Japa have died in the UK if not in the hundreds. Someone should research this.

Many are in mental institutions.

Many are struggling and living rough

UK is no joke.

The country is exploitative, and it is good that people are becoming more aware.
Nigeria is worse. While working in a commercial bank in Nigeria, i knew a lot of mid -level staff living in the suburb of lagos and working on the island. They leave their homes before 5am to start a job of 8am cus of traffic. Then going back home after COB of 5pm, they eithier wait till around 9pm to leave the office cus of traffic or just spend 3 or 4hrs in traffic. This is for a mon- friday job on a peanut salary. I am not sure of any situation in uk that is worse than that.
