The Obidient Movement has cautioned the Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, over her comments predicting the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

Dabiri-Erewa had, in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, criticised supporters of the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, popularly known as Obidients, describing them as “monsters.”

She also expressed confidence that President Tinubu would emerge victorious in the next general election.

“@PeterObi has actually raised monsters. By God’s grace @officialABAT will win the 2027 elections. When it’s the turn of the South-East and who knows, if the lot falls on him, I hope he knows that these Obidients will ironically be his downfall. He needs to call them to order,” she wrote.

Reacting, the National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Yunusa Tanko, dismissed Dabiri-Erewa’s remarks, stating that she lacks an understanding of the movement and its objectives.

Speaking with Daily Independent on Sunday, Tanko described Obidients as responsible Nigerians committed to good governance and national development.

“She has no knowledge about what the Obidient Movement is all about. We are not monsters. We are responsible Nigerians who are fed up with the current dysfunctional system and strongly believe that a new Nigeria is possible. We are patriotic Nigerians made up of professionals from all walks of life who want credible change in our country,” he said.

Tanko further stated that the comments would not deter the movement but would instead strengthen its resolve to demand accountability.

“By calling us names, Dabiri-Erewa cannot deter us. Rather, it will embolden us to demand accountability and good governance. We won’t stop until that is achieved,” he added.

On Dabiri-Erewa’s assertion that Tinubu would be re-elected in 2027, Tanko said the outcome of the election rests solely with the Nigerian electorate.

“She is not God and should not play the role of God. It is the Nigerian people, who are dissatisfied with the current situation, that will determine the winner of the 2027 presidential election. We do not hate Tinubu. All we are saying is: give Nigerians good governance. If you cannot, then step aside for a more competent person,” he said.

Obi supporters are mobsters you say? Tinubu supporters who were mainly Buhari supporters. The same Buhari who's supporters killed 800 people in the 2011 election when he lost including serving youth members from the South ..

Did they beat anyone from voting? No

Did they threaten anyone and tell him not to come out and vote like MC oluomo threatened igbo people? No.

Did they invade yoruba areas in the East and beat them up and tell them not to come out and vote like thugs did in Lagos?No

This woman like her fellow Buhari Tinubu supporters are the most delusional set of people I have ever seen but they should keep on with their grand delusion.
