osayuwamwen:Off course there’s no need to set the Battery Resting Voltage. If you set the appropriate Bulk and Floating charge voltages, a healthy 24V lithium battery will have around 27.2V as the resting voltage. |

AyarmBoye:Don't allow anyone here market you to buy used battery please. You'll end up buying dead battery that you'll need to change within months. Stick to your new 2.5kwh lithium battery as you already wanted. Don't say you were not warned. |

osayuwamwen:A DC shunt will do the job for you. |

Please where can i get them? I need a used halfcut solar panel.450-600w iraybuju: |

ajabani4allah:You can set bulk, cut of and float voltage on this inverter.Any inverter that has adjustable voltage settings will work with lithium |

the lifep04 battery is not smart and no communication port justasitis: |

ok justasitis: |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by ajabani4allah(m): 7:16am On Apr 13 |
omotoda:Pls look at it very well, it only has "battery low cut off point" which is even for lead acid battery not lithium battery |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by ajabani4allah(m): 7:22am On Apr 13 |
justasitis:I am a little bit confused about this Bulk and floating voltage, is the bulk the same thing as the OVP and float OVPR on the JK BMS parameters? |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by ajabani4allah(m): 7:35am On Apr 13 |
osayuwamwen:The only way to do this is to get the battery capacity meter below with 200A shunt or if you are handy(DIY guru) you can dismantle the battery get 200A JK smart BMS with 1A/2A active balancer and rebuild your battery. This is what I have just done, converting 2 pieces of 12v/280Ah lifepo4 battery to 24v/280Ah with the 200A JK Smart BMS. This second method is the best because you get to see everything going on around your battery and the BMS will manage your battery better. But is for those who are enthusiastic and have time. You won't believe the type of wire I saw when opened up the battery pack. Imagine using 10mm wire thickness for a 12v/280Ah battery pack

| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by justasitis: 9:37am On Apr 13 |
ajabani4allah:The Bulk and Floating settings are normally done on the inverter not on the BMS. But there are necessary Settings to be done on the battery BMS also like the JK BMS to prevent overcharging and over discharge so as not to shorten the battery lifespan. |

justasitis:Ok |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 9:50am On Apr 13 |
AyarmBoye:for long term plan YES or just buy 2pcs of 400w (or 380w) and pair with an external 60A charge controller. MPPT is always prefered. |

ajabani4allah:I reCall saying such several times but e go be like say person just likes talking. That 10mm wey you see even thick sef. Go open those Solar generators make you see the funny things wey dey full inside am. Tomorrow person go say Lithium battery dey catch fire. If you wey get technical knowledge of things talk, person wey no get enough basic information go begin foam for mouth |

ajabani4allah:This is long journey. @adminx already suggested DC shunt which is more portable can easily be reUsed @osayuwamwen |

I really want to appreciate everyone on this thread for the knowledge and enlightenment you share. I started my solar journey before I knew this thread, and I fell heavily into the hands of a predatory installer. Thank God for this thread and its good people, things are now very much better. @JoeSef0, thanks for introducing me to the thread. Thanks to @Dam5reey. I bought the protection box set and inverter from him. He also took the inverter to the service center for repairs and it was repaired under warranty. (About 1 month after purchase, lightning struck and destroyed 90+% of solar installations in our area) Thank you everyone🙏 |

I've come to notice something about Fouani. Sometimes the Items that says 'out of stock' are actually still available in shops. Got an induction cooker from them at Asaba, same cooker has been out of stock on website for since God knows when. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bkuranga(m): 7:17am On Apr 14 |
ajabani4allah:No, bulk voltage and float voltage is to be set on your controller. The OVP in your BMS is to protect against the cells getting overcharged. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by codemaster2much: 7:29am On Apr 14 |
Unfaized:perhaps that items has not been digitised yet |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by ajabani4allah(m): 12:18pm On Apr 14 |
bkuranga:Thanks, but it seems bulk voltage value are usually set equal to OVP of the bms |

I love the Chinese. Sometimes they don't just give a fück about aesthetics. This is someone casually using BYD blade cells (15kwh each) and even built contraption to get it hanging off a wall ![]() Flies wire as if he had once worked for NITEL/NEPA. Anyways it works, that's all that matters ![]()
