Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, has expressed confidence in his ability to secure support from northern Nigeria ahead of the 2027 elections, stating that no other candidate can match his plans for the region.

Speaking during an appearance on Prime Time on Arise Television on Monday, Obi said he intends to transform the North, which he described as Nigeria’s greatest asset.

“Nobody can do what I intend to do in the North. We will change the North. Our greatest asset as a country is in the North. We can make more money from agriculture than we make from oil,” he said.

The former Anambra State governor also emphasized the importance of strengthening democratic institutions, calling on the government to support opposition parties.

According to him, a thriving opposition is essential for effective governance and accountability.

“The government should protect the opposition. In fact, they should make opposition stronger and make it work,” he added.

Nobody can change the north,.mallam na mallam even if you pronounce it from the back , the worst things is to give them western education, even our yoruba Muslim preferred quaran school than western school from the way they celebrated their wolemo( quaran graduation day)some even kill cow, these people won't even celebrate their bsc holders but will celebrate him at quaran graduation even at age 7, I witness a lot

Oga Obi stop deceiving yourself... You only have plans for the South East .... You said it yourself, the only plan you have for the North is to turn them to farmers and you are not doing anything new because they're already farming. I challenge you to put a comprehensive master plan that you have for them out there, even Emilokan has a Renewed Hope plan even though I doubt he has achieved 40% of the plan. .. we are tired of chochocho..by the way even if you can't write it all, give Emilokan and all of us expo on how you intend to revive the Power sector.

If Muslim North doesn't want a president that will confront the almajiri, open-grazing and insecurity problems, we had better go our separate ways.

The Muslim North cannot be fighting for one Nigeria and be dragging the entire country backwards. Someone has to grow some balls and stop all these things once and for all.
