It's crazy how V.A.R were so eager to check if Eric deserved a red card yet they quickly dismissed Llorente's two handed push on Olmo in the box. It's also crazy how Gavi was given a yellow for making Ruggeri bleed yet Musso wasn't even shown a yellow card for making Fermin bleed.

Referees and double standards against Barca at the Champions League. It's becoming glaring that UEFA and their refs are biased towards Barca when making calls. Cos this inconsistency in the same match seems even way funnier when it's the same ref and not from a different match.

Dem no dey waste time recheck all our fouls and goals, but when we're the ones on the receiving end the refs and VAR somehow through a blind eye at it.

It's time for Flick to learn the players are just not available to perfect what he wants and tweak his style.

We don't have fast defenders for the crazy recovery speeds this high line requires.

Immediately I saw that cross and I saw how Eric Garcia was running and struggling to get that ball before the Atleti player had it, I already knew it was a possible goal, cos in that position that player would be very free to whip in a perfect cross for a goal. And I wasn't disappointed by the final result of that move.

I just knew that thing was a goal.

You no get fast players at defence yet you dey risk them in positions that forces them to brilliant every damn time.

At least, maybe with this, the board will finally invest in the defence

I was even thinking he would put araujo inside to counter the sorloth sub. Eric and martin were already tired so I wasn't surprised with the foul. Even if we had equalized on aggregate what was the guarantee we'll have been able to go toe to toe with them at extra time. We just used indiscipline to gift atleti this tie. We need to sign players in the summer and tweak tactics bro

Yeah, based on what I saw, I seriously doubt if we could keep the tempo even if we got another goal. That extra time would have run us ragged. We don't have the depth for it. And injuries to our team makes things even worse.

One key player comes back from injury, then another one follows him back to injury. That inconsistency kills vibes and tempo.

Imagine losing Raphinha and Bernal at once. Two players who thrive on intensity and hardworking pressing.

Deco has his work cut out for him.
Get Bastoni for €60mn, get that Asllani for cheap €30mn and work hard for other cheap options or free or on loan players next season.
We seriously need depth.

All those young CBs Deco purchased this winter,I want to believe he has a plan of at least Flick integrating a couple of them into the team. Cos this Cubarsi, Garcia and Martin slowness combo for back ehn, na calamity and tears back to back.
I'm struggling to see 4 young CBs purchased, especially when they were all highly sought after by top teams in Europe, I'd be shocked if none got a call up and gradual introduction to the team dynamics next season.
After all, we have faith in 18yr olds manning important positions in the team. At least,those guys are way faster than what Cubarsi and co presently offers.

The thing about the highline philosophy is that it requires all 4 defenders to be on the same wavelength. If even one of the defenders should be ahead or behind the rest, the highline will fail.

It is very hard to achieve because we play with offensive fullbacks. All it takes is for our opponents to make a run in between our fullbacks and center backs i.e the half spaces and then cross the ball to one of their wingers for an easy tap in.

Check and you'll see that we keep conceding the same type of goal over and over again. That's not a coincidence.

If Hansi Flick chooses not to dump his highline philosophy, then he should reserve it for only opponents with slow players, which is still going to be risky because you don't necessarily need to have fast players to breach a high line.
