Then why are we wasting money on elections if we actually know that nobody is going to change Nigeria to better?

Go and read about Dubai and see how an individual contributed to what it has become today buy your myopic reasoning believes that as long as that heediot of a president cannot make Nigeria better then nobody else can make it better.

Re: Nigeria Has The Highest Inflation Rate In West Africa In 2026 by nairalanda1(m): 7:51am On Apr 15
The truth is, Nigeria needs to use its immense natural resources to make exportable industrail goods and services, so that the inflation rate would come down

But we don't want this kind of leadership. All the people blasting the government of the day...which is very useless by the way, want to replace it with the same kind of government under different management...meaning nothing will change.

And as for the other african countries...lol...they are basicaly like Nigeria. Figures can be decieving.

Things won't change because Nigerians do not want good government, they want freebies.

@OP.

This is disingenuous and subjective use of statistics that does not allow for facts and reality that would make it instantly clear why Nigeria is experiencing high inflation.

Our situation is very different to all other nations in West Africa. We have huge endowment (natural and mineral resources plus arable land) and capacity (large population and markets) that should see us far ahead of all else in Africa if successive leaders , since 1999, had cumulatively done the right things.

As it is , and as statistical facts confirm, Nigeria was at the point of collapse when the current government came to power in 2023.

The only way to save Nigeria, steady the sinking ship and set her on course to reach her destination, was initiation and sustenance of fundamental and critical reforms all Presidents before Tinubu had shunned.

Subsidy removal and floating of the Naira, for example, have direct effect as causes of hyperinflation which is always acceptable in national economics if the end will justify the means.

While others can parade inflation rate of 3% etal, such is nothing any Nigerian should envy if they are progressive and fully understand why we have comparatively high inflation.

If Nigerians understand the results reforms, causing temporary high inflation, will achieve that will hopefully see us develop to be like Singapore in the next 20 years or so then they will know we have have no business looking at the situation or trajectory of other West African nations.

The challenges facing us is very different to their challenges.

The fact is that PBAT and his team have the reformational vision and will to sacrificially become scapegoats of Nigerians anger so that our nation can unlock huge potentials we have that many West African nations, combined, will never possess.

If after all this, we succeed to be like Singapore in 20 years time then our children will be thanking Tinubu immensely even as he is seen as a villain by some currently.

Most nations facing ruination, because of failed past leadership, go through exactly what Nigeria is going through once a sincere and resolute reformational leader takes charge.

Great leaders do not seek populist appeasement of those they lead like OBJ, Jonathan and Buhari exemplify. They do everything, including what will make them extremely unpopular, that is in the verified best interest of those they lead as the woman below confirms about PBAT.

Buhari said the same thing and you political bandits under Tinubu's mandate told Nigerians to exercise patience. Now Buhari is gone and Tinubu is here and you are still telling Nigerians to exercise patience, is it until them kpai finish before they will start seeing the benefits of the renewed hopelessness of the rice sharing Tinubu's government?

How Indorama sustains manufacturers, boosts Nigeria’s FX earnings

Indorama Eleme Petrochemicals Limited (IEPL) has emerged as a major value creator in the Nigerian economy. It is responsible for the survival, growth and sustenance of many manufacturing companies in Nigeria today. A large number of plastic and allied firms depend on the Eleme-based company for petrochemical resins (or polymer resins) which serve as their raw materials.

The petrochemical company is just one of the several subsidiaries of Indorama-Nigeria Group, which also comprises Indorama Eleme Fertilizer & Chemicals Limited (IEFCL), Indorama PET Nigeria Limited, and Indorama Port Operations.

Since Indorama Corporation of Indonesia became core investor in the old Eleme Petrochemicals Company Limited (EPCL) in 2006 through privatisation programme of the Federal Government, the group has become a game changer in the Nigerian economy.

The petrochemical company has solved the major challenge facing a number of manufacturers— poor access to raw materials. Rather than scramble for foreign exchange to import inputs, the company ensures that manufacturers have access to their critical raw materials, enabling them to save costs and improve margins.

The major resins used by plastic and allied companies are polyethylene and polypropylene. Indorama produces about 45 grades of these products for various industries. About 600 of such companies in Nigeria depend on IEPL for their survival. They are estimated to have over 90,000 workers.

It will go down to 8% very soon.
Nigeria once had roughly 28.2% inflation in August 2005.
God bless Nigerians.
