Role Overview
Merchant Partners are field activation agents responsible for acquiring, onboarding, and supporting businesses onto the Nkaise platform. This is a distribution and operations role focused on driving adoption of Nkaise’s merchant infrastructure across retail, wholesale, and service sectors.

You will act as the first point of contact for merchants, ensuring successful setup, initial usage, and ongoing issue resolution.

Core Responsibilities

1. Merchant Acquisition
Identify and engage target businesses (retailers, distributors, service providers)
Pitch the Nkaise platform and articulate its operational and financial benefits
Convert leads into active onboarded merchants

2. Onboarding & Activation
Guide merchants through onboarding (KYC, business setup, VAT configuration where applicable)
Set up POS, inventory, product catalog, and payment workflows
Ensure merchants complete first transactions successfully (activation milestone)

3. First-Line Support
Provide immediate, on-ground troubleshooting for merchants
Resolve basic issues related to POS, payments, inventory, and invoicing
Escalate complex technical or financial issues to internal teams

4. Merchant Enablement
Train merchants and their staff on platform usage
Drive adoption of key features (multi-payment, invoicing, reporting)
Ensure consistent and correct usage of the platform

5. Performance Tracking
Maintain records of onboarded merchants and activation status
Track merchant activity, engagement, and retention
Report field insights, objections, and product feedback

Key Metrics (KPIs)
Number of merchants onboarded
Activation rate (merchants completing first transaction)
30-day merchant retention
Transaction volume from onboarded merchants
Support resolution time

Ideal Candidate Profile
Strong field sales or business development experience
Experience working with merchants, SMEs, or distribution networks
High operational discipline and ability to execute structured onboarding processes
Basic technical proficiency (mobile apps, POS systems, or similar tools)
Strong communication and persuasion skills
Ability to work independently in a field environment

Preferred Experience
Prior experience as a POS agent, fintech agent, or field sales representative
Familiarity with payments, inventory systems, or merchant operations
Existing network within retail/merchant ecosystems
