Some Nigerians just amuse me. They look around and see they must dig shalanga for their poo, dig borehole for their water, sweat off their own brow for their own daily bread, but expect an incompetent government to say "let there be light" so they can see. It's like the gods bless us with a source of light but we expect someone else to mine it for us. Good thing is, not everyone is waiting for their manna to come from heaven. Some peoples' wailing puts food in some's belly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RF0Hk3-E-PI?si=hfSt37bI2jk3EzUL |

budaatum:So what are you saying ?I dont get |
| Re: Horrible Power Supply Situation by budaatum: 1:43pm On Apr 15 |
Didijiji:I'm saying, don't wait for government to give you light, or anything at all. Or better, be your own government.
|
| Re: Horrible Power Supply Situation by Didijiji(op): 2:01pm On Apr 15 |
budaatum:no need for government na This one is very useless to the masses |
| Re: Horrible Power Supply Situation by budaatum: 2:44pm On Apr 15 |
Didijiji:There is very much a need for us to govern ourselves, but until we can govern ourselves to say "let there be light", I'm afraid individuals would need to enlighten themselves first just as we enshalanga and enwater ourselves. |
| Re: Horrible Power Supply Situation by Brendaniel: 3:12pm On Apr 15 |
budaatum:If the citizens can do everything for themselves, why then do we need a government? |
| Re: Horrible Power Supply Situation by obonujoker(m): 3:39pm On Apr 15 |
budaatum:Yet you want us to pay tax?? |
| Re: Horrible Power Supply Situation by budaatum: 4:43pm On Apr 15 |
obonujoker:I also want you to vote! That's how you control how the tax you pay is spent.
|
| Re: Horrible Power Supply Situation by budaatum: 4:49pm On Apr 15 |
Brendaniel:The citizens are the government! We just don't understand that simple fact yet, and is why we talk of government as if it is imposed on us from Mars. Government is how citizens organise and do for themselves. We Nigerians seem to however find it difficult to organise and work together, which is why we store our own poo on our own land, and bore our own water from under our own houses, and must generate our own electricity by ourselves for now, until we learn to organise and work together. |
| Re: Horrible Power Supply Situation by Didijiji(op): 4:56pm On Apr 15 |
budaatum:so we waste time to queue under the sun to vote so one idiotic politician will grab and run with our votes abi |
| Re: Horrible Power Supply Situation by budaatum: 5:03pm On Apr 15 |
Didijiji:Why are you planning to queue under the sun to vote for one idiotic politician who will grab and run with your votes when you have a brain inside your head? Can you not stand in the sun and vote for an intelligent politician who will appreciate you voted for them to do what you want them to do for you? |
| Re: Horrible Power Supply Situation by Didijiji(op): 5:09pm On Apr 15 |
budaatum:we are saying the same thing... I cant vote for grabbers... they are demonic and will never do any better |
| Re: Horrible Power Supply Situation by budaatum: 5:14pm On Apr 15 |
Didijiji:Good. Now vote for non-grabbers. And if the people you vote for turn out to be grabbers, vote them out next time and vote in someone else, and eventually you might get a non-grabber who is not demonic and who will do better. |
| Re: Horrible Power Supply Situation by Brendaniel: 6:36pm On Apr 15 |
budaatum:So why haven't you organized your own country as the government you claim to be? |
| Re: Horrible Power Supply Situation by budaatum: 7:24pm On Apr 15 |
Brendaniel:I feel you are way far smarter than to be seriously asking what you are asking above or even assuming that is what I am suggesting one do. So, try again Brendaniel. I'm dying to engage with your brain with my solar energy that is giving me light to engage with you. |
| Re: Horrible Power Supply Situation by Brendaniel: 9:44pm On Apr 15 |
budaatum:I'm only asking you the question based on your words..., The citizens are the government! Your words... |

obonujoker:Yes na....
|
| Re: Horrible Power Supply Situation by budaatum: 10:30pm On Apr 15 |
Brendaniel:That does not in any way mean you "organized your own country as the government you claim to be", and your lack of comprehension is shown by your question. So, let's start from the basics to help you. Pray tell, what does democracy mean to you? |
| Re: Horrible Power Supply Situation by Brendaniel: 10:50pm On Apr 15 |
budaatum:Nothing like lack of comprehension here, There is a reason I asked you that question based on your words and I will show you why after your response to this comment, To answer your question, I don't believe in the basic type of democracy anymore, because it is too flawed, especially the type practiced here in Nigeria and even in the so called western countries... If you really believe this basic type of democracy we are practicing in Nigeria is working, why is Nigeria the way it is today? And why haven't you done anything about it through the so called democracy you believe in? |
| Re: Horrible Power Supply Situation by budaatum: 11:03pm On Apr 15 |
Brendaniel:A better phrasing would be, do you believe democracy is working in Nigeria, instead of you assuming what you think I believe. So let me enlighten you. About 100 million Nigerians were registered to vote at the last election that Tinubu won with less than 10 million votes, with the two other major contestants getting 6.5 million votes each. Did the about 75 million Nigerians who sat on their asses refusing to vote make democracy work for themselves? Brendaniel:I am doing plenty about it just by engaging you. At the end of our discussion, I'm hoping you'd not be one of those 75 million who did not participate in democracy and are now crying because you are being misruled or at least ruled in such a way that does not seem to benefit you. Now answer my question please. What does democracy mean to you?
|
| Re: Horrible Power Supply Situation by Brendaniel: 12:00am On Apr 16 |
budaatum:So why hasn't your plenty worked in the so called democracy you believe in? |
| Re: Horrible Power Supply Situation by budaatum: 8:52am On Apr 16 |
Brendaniel:As in, why did 75% of eligible voters not bother to vote? Reason is because you are not sufficiently educated enough yet, which I am trying to change by asking you again: What does democracy mean to you? |
| Re: Horrible Power Supply Situation by Brendaniel: 8:57am On Apr 16 |
budaatum:So how do you want to make 75% of the voters to turn out? |
| Re: Horrible Power Supply Situation by budaatum: 8:58am On Apr 16 |
Brendaniel:By educating you! Brendaniel, what does democracy mean to you? |
| Re: Horrible Power Supply Situation by Brendaniel: 9:02am On Apr 16 |
budaatum:And since you started educating, why hasn't it worked? |
| Re: Horrible Power Supply Situation by budaatum: 9:10am On Apr 16 |
Brendaniel:As in, why have you not been educated yet? I think it's because you stubbornly refuse to learn, and are the minus 1 from the 75m. Thankfully, most are learning, unlike you. Brendaniel, what does democracy mean to you? |
| Re: Horrible Power Supply Situation by BrickandLace(f): 10:24am On Apr 16 |
Mind games here is too much. If a government is incompetent then really there's no point paying taxes to them. You cannot provide everything for yourself by being a government to yourself and pay another rogue. If anything pay taxes to yourself, that is the equitable thing to do. Vote out the rogues. Every other thing is mind games. |
| Re: Horrible Power Supply Situation by Brendaniel: 12:43pm On Apr 16 |
budaatum:You claim most are learning and yet Nigeria is the way it is today? Why are they still having bad leaders? Secondly, the answer to your democracy question is not a direct one, if what they are practicing in Nigeria is what you call democracy, then I don't really believe in it anymore. Except it is modified to suit the current situation of Nigeria. Because, presently I'm beginning to feel you people are wasting your time with it. |
| Re: Horrible Power Supply Situation by budaatum: 4:49pm On Apr 16 |
The only person I am obviously currently wasting my time with is you, Brendaniel, who refuses to answer a very simple question. Brendaniel, what does democracy mean to you? Brendaniel: |
| Re: Horrible Power Supply Situation by Brendaniel: 7:13pm On Apr 16 |
budaatum:I have answered you already... |
| Re: Horrible Power Supply Situation by budaatum: 7:24pm On Apr 16 |
Brendaniel:No you haven't! Or answer again so we are clear. Brendaniel, what does democracy mean to you? |
