“I Blame My Mother For Being Unmarried At 37” – Woman Shares Emotional Story by Breaker001(op): 10:49am On Apr 17
A 37-year-old woman has sparked emotions online after opening up about her painful life story, blaming her current situation on years of sacrifice for her family.

According to her, she left Nigeria about 15 years ago, travelling through Libya and Italy before eventually settling in Germany, where she worked tirelessly to support her family back home.

In her words, she said:

“I blame my mother for everything I am going through right now, because no man wants to settle down with me. All my mates are married with children, I am the only one left. I will be 38 in the next two months, no child, no husband.”

She revealed that she started with cleaning jobs and later moved into caregiving, sending money home to build a house and improve her family’s living conditions.

However, instead of encouraging her to settle down, she said her mother urged her to focus on her siblings, asking her to bring them abroad and continue supporting them.

“My mother told me to forget about marriage and bring my siblings over. I struggled, worked two jobs, took loans, and brought them here. Immediately they settled, they got married and started their own lives,” she added.

She added that each time she brought up marriage, her mother discouraged her, insisting she was still young and needed to prioritize her family responsibilities first.

Now, years later, she feels left behind as her siblings have moved on with their lives, leaving her single and uncertain about her future.

“Now I am the only one left unmarried. I’m 37, no husband, no child, and my mother is still telling me to be careful and marry a man that will allow me to keep taking care of the family.”

She added that when she expressed her fears, her mother dismissed her concerns, saying marriage is not everything and that she could always adopt a child

I think most of these stories are made up for likes and engagement online but if this is true- it’s a clear example of how mothers can ruin their children’s lives with their own selfish interests

All these stories are fake. People believe them because many human beings have no direction in life and will blow into one belief or the next like mindless minions.

Many prominent women got married at 36 - 39 years of age. Some in their forties. Don’t let the hustle for Elon and Mark’s dollars make you consume nonsense.

Just take a look at the comments from "Typical Nigerians" above angry

Instead of them to pick lessons from the woman's story, all they care about is whether it's a true story or false.

Well,I don't want to castigate her,cuz she isn't the first and won't also be the last angry. In fact these are the kind of threads that should be hitting front page so that any potential future evening newspaper can learn from the mistakes of her senior colleague angry But nevertheless, make she try to dey attend that OPM church angry. Tha man dey work fire. Na just to place embargo on her head, say any man wey go marry her go receive so so amount of money angry omoh,na once her story go change within 2 seconds.

All this stories aren't fabricated, Have seen several personally, have seen boss that doesn't want his apprentice to marry because of the business, have seen sister that delayed her fellow younger sister marriage because of her importance in taking care of the house. Have seen pastors that does not want minister to get married so as not to leave the church, they rather prefer they marry church members. So, those stories might not be fake

What there in marrying late? It's better late than never and it's even more better to marry late to your soulmate than to marry early to a weapon fashioned against you.

Some people will blame everybody but themselves when things don't go like they envisaged.

You went abroad and became a fully independent woman responsible for her life's choices.

So, how is your mother who wasn't living abroad with you responsible for your single status?

She wants us to believe that her mother had, in fact, been the enemy of her progress in marriage. Who am I to say she is wrong when she believes it? Now that she has established this this year, let's hope this will no longer be the go-to excuse used going forward. 🤔

Don't worry, your mama go arrange one for you after you don train your siblings finish.
I believe they're some decisions only you can make by yourself even without waiting for anybody.

Training your siblings will and can never stop you from getting married, I think the problem is you.

mother is not to blame

you did not apply wisdom to the message from your mother

you are the cause of your own predicament

Social Media has turned everyone to a story teller. Coming to set up camera for us to do what? Are we your mother? How many men did you PERSONALLY turn down because they are NOT YOUR LEVEL when all they wanted was to marry you and start a family?

Fake stories everywhere

Part of it is your having a saviour complex or solution driven. I get am so I know and you need to work on your part also.

Parent would not succeed in putting their responsibilities on you if you are gangster.

Never takeaway your eyes from your number one key responsibilities which is you.
