Things are not always what we think they are, what if Opay actually took the money from her account as a result of outstanding debt amd she doesn't have money to pay him back at that moment. You can never tell bro.

Besides, poverty make people lie, and being a liar destroyed future opportunities. The worst thing to have evee happened to a human bring is to be broke in this part of the world.
Opay doesn't do that. I owe the 80k for over a year now, and I still receive alerts on the account.

Maybe you meant palmpay

The sender deserves some blame in this. When making money transfers, we cannot afford to be callous. If you send money for someone that is looking for money to eat, it is like a prayer answered. Won't the person use some of it to buy foodstuffs first? I am not exonerating the lady for what she did, blocking the sender was not the best but the guy deserves some blame too.
What if the owner of the account that money was sent to is not even alive? Or it is a non-opay account where you cannot even contact the receiver? If you ask me, the sender should learn his lessons.
Anybody that receives money that doesn’t belong to them in their account and uses it for their own needs is a thief. Period! I don’t care whether you are a church rat or a beggar. Na hellfire that person dey go straight angry

I no go lie. E happen to me last Xmas. I dey try send money to pay for drinks for joint wey I go. My eye don dirty with enough alcohol. Na so I come transfer the money to one thief and the thief think say na Xmas gift from Father Christmas 😡. Funny enough the bar no even catch say the money no land immediately. Na correct bar for VI.

It was only when I woke up the next day, I look my phone and realized I had sent the money to the wrong person. The hangover quickly comot for my eyes. I rush go bank go report. The bank called me and told me the thief said she knows me and na money wey I dey owe am. I was so angry and wanted to go to police. But the thought of doing police report and going court discouraged me so I fashi and kukuma leave am for the thief angry

But you know what? I went back to the bar and told them. Na so dem check and say na true o, say the money never enter and I then paid them their money. That’s what a honest person does. The manager na one oyibo man. And he come tell me say make I take anything wey I like say he go pay from him pocket grin

Exactly, why put up her picture over a mistake that was not hers? She didn't acquire the money by fraudulent means. He sent it to her.
It is fraud. People go to jail for doing that in sane countries. Taking anything that doesn’t not belong to you is theft. Stop supporting criminals! angry

1. She returned the sum because the bad news cut her bride price.

2. 99% of the children calling her a thief will do the same. This is a case of the thief being the caught person.

3. If the incident wasn’t reported and Opay gave a thousand excuses why the fund could not be returned, she would’ve kept it.

She sufered shame? Only shame? It was not her money to take in the first place, she brought shame to herself. Besides, the money isn't complete and it was her sister who returned some of the money not even the thief herself. And you are here saying she sufered shame? You are ridiculous!

It is an absolute fraudulent theft! The money doesn't belong to her she never worked for it.

Anyway, she is lucky it is not the likes of me she encountered, i wouldn't even ask her to return the money twice before i take her case to Amadioha, her family and generations would keep paying indirectly for the rest of their lives, She can't just take my hard earned money No way! i have never taken anyone else money.

Why didn't she report all that initially? Why lie that she didn't receive the money in the first place? See how you are just making up excuses, excuses and excuses on her behalf, would you accept all these excuses if it had been your hard earned 100k? Imagine if you needed that money to pay hospital bills for you child? buy medicine? Or pay your rent? Would you accept all these ridiculous excuses you are making?

What are you admiring about a thief? She has forever soiled her image because of 100 thousand naira.
If her face wasn't littered everywhere would she have returned the money? She is just a typical Nigerian thief. The fact it was part of the money that was refunded shows she has probably gone on a spending spree with that money.

The sister tried but the girl is a thief. Which one is opay deducted her debt? What silly excuse is that? If similar thing happened to her, will she accept such excuse? The girl na thief.

Never take what doesn't belong to you. Its pure greed and stealing. Return it.....

You're rights but bros there are situations you find yourself in you see such things as a blessing honestly. The only reason we have to blame the girl is her dishonesty, if her sis could return 54k it shows that in their family they were raised rights but her sister's action might be a means to an end for a situation.
What if the girl was no longer alive?? And the number can't be reached how do the guy solve it out? You made a mistake by sending money to another person's account, you are at the person's mercy it's your own nemesis for your mistake don't expect total impunity. If I make mistakes I should accept the consequences instead of changing the narrative blaming the girl and letting the world think she's irresponsible.
Why won't you blame the one who did the mistake and tell him to accept the consequences?? You're now blaming the girl who might had used the money to solve pressing needs, pressing needs. Ahhhh, make una dey calm down abeg.

The lady is a bad person, didn't u see the chat of how the sender was begging her for his own money? I don't understand what u are appreciating in a criminal.

Exactly, you had to accept the consequences for your own mistake. It's your own mistake you don't have expect total impunity for your action. The receiver might have had a very pressing need, there are needs that are pressing and depressive, you pray for such things, you won't care about the outcome later you go face that one.
From my own understanding I feel the girl had a pressing need to sort out, but I blame her for dishonesty saying opay cleared her debts and blocking the guy also was totally wrong because na the blocking make the guy expose am online.
Women act first before thinking.
The guy should accept the consequences of his actions and stop improvising by changing the narrative blaming the girl and letting the world see the girl as irresponsible girl.

No the lady in question is a bad person
It is not even about opay blocking her account, but the manner she was rude to the sender & even blocked him. Moreover Opay don't automatically deduct debt, only palmpay does that, she is a criminal & inconsiderate.

I sent money for one GT account wey go till date. Na for my POS, my POS merchant no help, GT too no help, 50k, they requested for court order, lawyers dey tell me 30k for order, I pleaded with one wey accept 20k, but e no gree respond to my msg again after agreeing to the 20k, Na so I leave fight for God. The transfer initially showed pending, and my naive salesgirl retried it, Na so 2funds go successfully.

During Opay early years of giving bonus, an hostel mate of my sister in Uni used her line to register Opay in his name(no BVN required), and my sis wasn't aware.
my sis doesn't use Opay, my mum is now using the line, na so a guy called my mum that he sent fund in error to her, my mum was like which account and what's the name?
He stated the name on the account but it's different to my sis, he chatted up on WhatsApp but my sis is having the WhatsApp account and she is in a different state, the guy thought my sis wasn't ready to return the fund, I tried to check the amount and it was 2k or 5k(forgotten but not more than 5k)
I checked the account, saw a different name, asked my sis, she said she knows the person but they were just hostel mate not friends as such, that the person is the type that always seek for freebies online back then.
Tried logging in, but we don't have any password, since the SIM is with my mum, I did a reset, then setup transferred pin, saw the fund in the account and I helped the guy with the refund.
The guy was over happy, I was like he might be a student wey someone just helped with urgent 2k, because it was both the sender and receiver that was calling continuously, I had to tell them to stop calling for few mins so as to stop disrupting the network
You did well. Opay have really improveed over the years. They don't just make transfer without you confirming it at least twice. They will even tell you , are you sure you want to o transfer so so amount to so so person and account before initiating the transfer.
I always pay details to that before sending funds. The guy didn't pay attention to this details

It still doesn't absolve her of her crime. Even if they took it as debt what stops her from explaining the situation to him? Is it totally blocking him the best she could do?
