Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has launched a sharp attack on former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, describing him as a habitual presidential contender who repeatedly falls short at the polls. Wike’s remarks came on Thursday during an inspection of ongoing infrastructure projects across Abuja, where he dismissed Atiku’s criticism of the current administration as unfounded and out of touch with realities on ground. He argued that visible development within the FCT contradicts claims that nothing meaningful has been achieved. Taking a swipe at the former vice president, the minister said Nigerians would not take such comments seriously, insisting that Atiku’s long history of contesting elections without success undermines his credibility. Wike also challenged Atiku to draw comparisons between the condition of Abuja during his time in office and the present state of the capital city, maintaining that the difference is evident in the scale of ongoing and completed projects. He stressed that governance must not be derailed by political rhetoric, noting that contractors handling key projects are focused on delivery timelines rather than election cycles. According to him, development efforts will continue uninterrupted despite political distractions. Providing updates on major infrastructure works, the minister disclosed that the Airport–Kuje road project is nearing completion, with part of the bridge expected to open for use within days. He assured residents that the entire project would be completed and handed over before the end of May. Similarly, Wike said the first phase of the Kuje–Gwagwalada road dualisation, covering about seven kilometres, is also on track for completion within the same timeframe, expressing satisfaction with both the pace and quality of work. He noted that the road projects are strategically designed to improve connectivity between satellite towns and the city centre, reduce congestion, and stimulate economic growth. In particular, he projected that Kuje would soon evolve into a major residential and commercial hub. Addressing allegations by the African Democratic Congress that the FCT Administration attempted to frustrate its convention, Wike denied any involvement, stating that no such interference occurred and challenging the party to provide evidence. The minister further revealed that a significant portion of ongoing infrastructure projects, estimated at over 80 percent, would be completed before January, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to delivering impactful development across the territory. https://thisnigeria.com/atiku-is-a-habitual-failure-at-polls-says-wike/

Is Wike referring to the same Atiku who defeated him in the 2019 PDP presidential primary, despite his efforts to influence it by bringing it to Port Harcourt and then defeated him again in 2022, when Wike himself was a contestant? Wike is truly intoxicated on a 40-year-old whiskey. |

HE DEALT WITH INSECURITIES BRUTALLY, DESTROYED HIDING PLACES FOR THE BAD BOYS, HELPED WITH EDUCATIONAL REFORMS THAT LEFT EVERY SECTIONS OF ACADEMICS GROWING AND FOSTERED A RAPID GROWTH ON INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT. HOPE TO SEE HIM CONTEST FOR THE PRESIDENCY IN THE NEAREST FUTURE. I BELIEVE HE WILL DELIVER LIKE A HEBREW MAN TALK AND DO POLITICIAN, LEADER AND FATHER FIGURE. AN INSPIRATION TO SUCCESS ITSELF. RESPECT TO YOU DEAR CHIEF BARR. NYESOM EZENWO WIKE. I LOVE YOU TO THE MOON I SWEAR. ![]() |

PrinceNEMEREM:Lol Pray tell, under which party will Wike contest? He's persona non grata in the PDP. He'll never be given anything substantial in the APC. Every other political party are very wary of him because he's a snitch and a cunning man. All these encomium you've heaped on him are just puffy speeches — zero substance. |

Just one interview granted by Atiku last Wednesday, everybody in Tinubu's camp is now throwing shades at him, including Tinubu himself. This is very unusual. Why the sudden fear? 🤥 Tochitee:Tinubu has never replied obi, despite the noise the guy keeps making everyday. But only one interview granted by Atiku, the whole Tinubu's camp and Tinubu himself have been on his neck since last Wednesday. That's to tell you how much they fear Atiku. |

Who else noticed that APC supporters have suddenly stopped bragging that 2027 election is already wrapped up for the APC and they are preparing for 2031 general election. They are now lamenting that north must honour the 8 years term agreement for South to rule before power can return back to the north. U see their lives, when we say pride goes before a fall they won't listen. How does APC want to rig Kano , Kaduna, and even Adamawa when the average northerner is first identifies as a northern before even claiming to be an APC Members. So I don't expect them to rig against one of their own that is running for the presidency on his last attempt for an APC leadership that is incompetent. I don't pity APC in the forthcoming election, they deserve Every betrayal the north is cooking for them. |

Though he could be said to be right in some areas, he is wrong in many areas. In the three times he appeared on the general ballot for the presidency, Atiku Abubakar received - 2,637,848 votes (7.47%) in 2007 to finish third, - 11,262,978 votes (41.22%) in 2019 to finish second, and - 6,984,520 votes (29.07%) in 2023 to finish second once again. In the first time the candidate he contested with in 2019 (that gave Atiku his highest vote ever) went to test his popularity in 2023, tell me what was the numbers that candidate got. Meanwhile, your principal is the most unpopular president elect in recent Nigerian history. 1999 – Olusegun Obasanjo: about 62.78% of valid votes. 2003 – Olusegun Obasanjo: about 61.94% of valid votes. 2007 – Umaru Musa Yar’Adua: about 69.60% of valid votes. 2011 – Goodluck Jonathan: about 58.87% of valid votes. 2015 – Muhammadu Buhari: about 53.96% of valid votes. 2019 – Muhammadu Buhari: about 55.60% of valid votes. 2023 – Bola Ahmed tinubu: about 36.6–37% of valid votes. I should also add that Atiku was successful as a VP candidate with Obasanjo in 1999/2003. Therefore to say that Atiku is a loser is not statistically correct. Also, Wike has tried to be Vice, he hasn't even been able to win primaries or be selected as a vice. I think he should accord some respect to those who have gone through the river before him. Be the judge if you went to school and was schooled.

wike is a very poor student in Nigeria politics but a master's in political betrayal and political bullying. i think he has forgotten that atiku once won a governorship election before he was nominated as vice president by obasanjo . |
