Are traditional religions like Ifa, Olokun, Amadioha etc by faith too or their worshippers can see and hear from outside this world? Because I can't just understand how people believe in such! God Almighty of the original Torah is the only True God. |

Why ask questions when you've already made a conclusion that God Almighty of the original Torah is the only true God? What's the aim of this thread? To demean and demonize other people's religious faith? |

Not to demean and demonize other people's religious faith. What I wrote is written in the Original Torah. You are free to write what your religion tells you too, so that were can learn from each other about our believes. |

Well, I don't know about Nigerian traditional religious practices because African traditional customs can vary across Africa. But with my people, I think there is some sort of higher power beyond this world that is involved... Let me give an example about my family, I'm from a lineage of traditional healers from my maternal side and none of those people chose to be traditional healers, some even tried seeking refuge within Christianity, but unfortunately kept having unexplained dreams or visions, incidents, sicknesses, and they'd also be sensitive to the beat of drums... Calamities would keep befalling them until they eventually accept their calling to become traditional healers... While some might get lucky after converting to Christianity, the ancestral calling might still go to one of their children or grandchildren. My family are actually Pedis of Ndebele ancestry, our Ndebele people seeked refuge within the Bapedi land during the Kekana and Mhwaduba conflicts around the 17th century... Some were able to preserve their Ndebele ancestral customs till date while Ndebeles from my region assimilated themselves within the Bapedi customs and eventually got absorbed by the Bapedi Kingdom, as a result they adopted the Bapedi culture and language as part of their native customs. Neither can we speak the Ndebele language nor understand it, but the moment those with a gift of traditional healing start getting possessed by their ancestral spirit and manifesting, they'd only be speaking in fluent Ndebele, so how do you explain that? My aunt was one of those who refused to accept her calling and converted to Christianity instead, everything was okay for some time, until my cousin started behaving weirdly by the time she was in high school... She'd sometimes faint during assembly time at school or during class lessons, when she's out with friends and even she's just at home doing nothing... She'd see things that are not there, and started becoming very sensitive to the beating of drums or anything similar to it, her classmates became aware of it and would sometimes start beating their classroom desks on purpose just to see her reaction... One day it bacame so bad that she went out of control, she started manifesting and dancing involuntarily while behaving weirdly and speaking incoherently in the Ndebele language... The parents had to be immediately called and asked to rush to the school because they didn't know what to do... By the time they arrived, she had fainted once again. There were speculations of my cousin suffering from mental illness, witchcraft ,and being a drug addict around the school while my aunt was well aware of what was happening to her, but in denial... She prayed and fasted many times before, but daughter's condition only kept deteriorating... My cousin didn't know what was happening to her because from the best of her knowledge, she was from a Christian home, but after that one incident in class, my aunt had no other choice but to face reality and accept that her daughter had an ancestral calling and needed help because she was also falling behind with her school work and not focused... So she was taken to this one traditional healer to begin her training to become a traditional hear, but she'd only attend her training during weekends and school holidays since she had school to attend during weekdays while those classmates of hers who used to tease her in class got a one week suspension... Since then, her life started functioning normally again and she recently graduated from varsity last year and got a job earlier this year. MindHacker9009: |

@Samantha That's a lot you have shared, from your experience, and it's good to hear that your cousin is doing well now. Someone said long ago that he and some people went to see a native doctor, and the native doctor made pieces of wood to be jumping and talking and was telling them what they came to find out about, but I have never seen such before so I cannot say if the story was true or not. |

Pieces of wood to be jumping and talking? Well, I don't know about that, I've never heard anything like it before. Like I said, traditional African faiths can vary across all cultures in Africa, maybe in West Africa they can make pieces of wood jump and talk... Again I was only talking based on my observation since in my family we have a lot of traditionalists, I personally have never experienced any form of high power before. MindHacker9009: |

I don't know hey, we don't have such a cultural practice in my tribe. I guess only Beninese traditionalists can give a better explanation to all your unanswered questions behind those dancing structures... Allegedly they have some of the most powerful Voodoo in all of Africa alongside Nigeria's Yoruba nation, but I don't know how true that is as I've never confirmed it before. MindHacker9009: |
